Knight’s Armor Specials Prepare for Map Invasion!

What did medieval postmen wear? Chain mail! If that terrible joke didn’t get a smile out of you, then we have something that sure will! In celebration of our upcoming MedZEEval Times themed MHQ Bash 6, we’ll be releasing our SIX new Knight’s Armor specials on September 20 at 00:01 MHQ time for over two weeks of exciting days and knights of adventure!

Knight’s Armor Specials

That’s right, we will be offering SIX bouncing MOB specials (3 virtual, 3 physical) from September 20 at 00:01 MHQ time all the way until October 6 at 23:59 MHQ time! They will land on Greenies, Virtuals, and Clan Weapon munzees every 6 hours or when captured. We will release 1,938 of these specials (divided into an even 323 of each type) for plenty of capping opportunities!

The physical specials will be attracted to Munzee Magnets on Greenies, while the virtual specials will be attracted to Virtual Magnets on Virts. To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Physical Specials

The physical specials include the Knight’s Breastplate, the Knight’s Left Boot, and the Knight’s Right Boot. These physical bouncers will land on the following:

  • Greenies
  • Mace
  • Longsword
  • Battle Axe
  • The Hammer

The physical bouncing specials will all be worth 100 points for both the Capture and Host.

Virtual Specials 

The virtual specials include the Knight’s Helmet, the Knight’s Left Gauntlet, and the Knight’s Right Gauntlet. These virtual bouncers will land on the following:

  • Virtual Munzees
  • Crossbow
  • Catapult

The virtual bouncing specials will all be worth 50 points for both the Capture and Host.

Lastly, what’s a special without a badge?! We’re happy to announce that in addition to these six new specials, there will be SEVEN new badges that players can battle their way to earning! Knights aren’t known for their mercy, so we won’t be revealing all of the badges just yet. However, we will provide you with a sneak peak!

Announcing Halloween Event Packages!

Summer is finally winding down here in Texas, and the changing seasons are getting us in gear for the next big holiday. No, we’re not talking about MHQ Bash 6! We’re fast-forwarding to celebrate more future festivities with our Halloween Event Package announcement!

Alongside the release of Halloween packages, we’re also excited to reveal a new event setup process that will now make it easier than ever to host your own Munzee Events! There is a lot of information to go through, so we’ve made it all available on our Help Guide. Check out the Munzee Events section for a comprehensive breakdown of each aspect of the updated event setup process. While there is a lot of information listed, remember that Louise is always here to answer any remaining questions every step of the way!

But first, are you ready to check out the 2019 Halloween Event Package details?!

Halloween Event Packages

We’ve got a scary good deal running for a limited time! Halloween packages are available for events scheduled from now through October 31. These packages have all you need to set up Halloween Events featuring a number of ghoulish goodies built into the price of the package, including a themed icon and badge that can be customized for your event!

For the price of $100, you’ll get the Halloween Themed Event Package, which includes the following:

  • Basic Event Package, including the new Munzee Event Attendee Badge (read more below!)
  • Removal of Proximity Rules

Valued at $150, this scary good deal won’t last for long! While there is a new event setup process that must be followed, please start by adding your events on the calendar at https://calendar.munzee.com/submit. Once you create your event, you’ll have to purchase the Halloween Event Package in the Freeze Tag Store.

Munzee Toolkit Munzday: bonsaai

One of the best parts about Munzee is that you can play how you want. Everyone goes about playing a bit differently, and that leads to some very creative and innovative uses of objects. From containers to bags to maintenance, we always encounter something new when we meet players. We want to showcase your Munzee Toolkits to see how you play the game and possibly even inspire other players who may need help! This week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes from bonsaai!

Today’s featured Munzee Toolkit is brought to us by bonsaai, a player hailing from Alexandria, Louisiana. Bonsaai has been a player for over six and a half years, amounting more than 6 million points through his Munzee gameplay techniques. Let’s see what he carries in his Munzee Toolkit!

Building Your Kit

What does a Munzee Toolkit look like? A good Munzee Toolkit contains many different compartments that make it easier to keep all of your munzees sorted. Below you can check out a Munzee Toolkit courtesy of MHQ’s own matthewmccann:

In addition to keeping your munzees neat and sorted, Munzee Toolkits such as this make for convenient ways to grab your munzees on the go in order to maximize deploy opportunities. In addition to the physical toolkit box, dedicated players sometimes choose to carry entire bags filled with a variety of handy items that can assist on your Munzee adventures. These items can include anything from packing sunblock for long days of capping and deploying to taking a black pen to help color in faded munzees to cap.

Extended In-App Language Features Are Here!

Hello! Ahoj! Hej! Szia! Hallo! Hei! Munzee is an international game complete with an incredible variety of players from all over the world. One aspect of the newest version of the app that we have been prioritizing is the extended language feature, and today we are happy to announce the inclusion of six additional languages in the Munzee app! 

As of the publication of this blog, we are thrilled to announce the addition of the following language options:

  • Czech
  • Danish
  • Hungarian
  • German
  • Dutch
  • Finnish

In addition to our latest language options, we also have a number of other languages being worked on as well. We hope to release these languages as soon as possible!

Ready to change your language? This very simple process can be done through the Munzee app! Since the update is over-the-air, as long as you have the latest version of the Munzee app, then the language options should automatically appear without needing to download any updates. You will need to force close the app to see the OTA update be installed.

Once you’ve logged into the app, go to your Settings option from the dropdown menu. In Settings you will see the option for languages, where you will be able to select from the seven current languages offered. Be sure to confirm your language switch by pressing “Reload” to apply the change. If you’re more of a visual learner, we put together this Help Guide article to walk you through the process!

Currently we are seeking player translation assistance for the following languages:

  • Lithuanian
  • Afrikaans
  • Portuguese
  • Malay
  • Russian
  • Italian
  • Spanish
  • Swedish
  • French
  • Polish

If you would like to help us translate any of these language options, please email tamara@freezetag.com with the title “Translation Help.” Don’t see your language on the list, send us an email if you’re willing to start the translation project. A huge thank you to all the players who volunteered their time to help us translate the current language options so far!

This announcement will be short and quite sweet, as we are happy to introduce the IRL Prize Wheel to the Munzee community! While many are familiar with trying their luck with the Prize Wheel Munzee, this brand new Prize Wheel exists in the real world! Yes, we’re talking about an actual Prize Wheel that lucky Bash attendees will have the opportunity to spin at upcoming events. But you’ll also have the opportunity to see the wheel in action from the comfort of your home!

Before we discuss more about how you can earn a spin on the IRL Prize Wheel, we’re happy to announce that we’ll be celebrating its introduction by putting the Prize Wheel credits on sale in the Freeze Tag Online Store! Enjoy a 10 percent discount on all Prize Wheel Credits starting at 12:00 MHQ time today until Monday at 10:00 MHQ time!

Over the last few weeks we have been hosting a number of Facebook mini contests that have been offering a variety of prizes to players. Our next contest will award the winning player with none other than a spin on the IRL Prize Wheel! How will that work? We’ll be hosting a Facebook livestream for the winner of our next contest, where we’ll be spinning the wheel in real time to reveal the winner’s prize!

Premium Munzee Membership Changes (New Rewards!)

Have you been enjoying Munzee with the many added benefits of your Munzee Premium Membership? Purchasing a Premium Membership provides players with many advantages from advanced filters to multi-user login, we’re happy to announce an updated set of included items going live on September 13 at 00:01 MHQ time!

Starting on Friday, players will have different game pieces to deploy for purchasing a Premium Membership from the Freeze Tag Online Store. These updated items will be available as of 00:01 MHQ time on September 13, so be sure to time your purchase for after this date if you’d like to receive them! Premium Members will now be awarded 1 Premium Munzee, 1 Blast Cap, 2 Virtuals with 2 Virtual Color credits, 1 Flat Rob, and 1 Butterfly Evolution credit at the time of purchase! These changes will not be retroactive.

In addition, ALL Premium Members will now receive an additional 100 PinPoints per month on the 15th of each month. This bonus goes out to all Premium Members, regardless of whether or not they purchased their Premium Membership before or after the new update. The PinPoints per month will be replacing the previous Premium Membership bonus of 10 monthly ZeeCred credits. That means that all Premium Members will be receiving 100 PinPoints in place of the previous 10 ZeeCred on the 15th of each month moving forward.

Keep in mind that players can purchase more than one Premium Membership for their account at a time. Each Premium Membership purchase will add 365 days to your Premium account status, so multiple purchases will simply stack over time. Players will automatically receive the updated Premium Membership benefits upon all purchases of Premium Memberships made after September 13 at 00:01 MHQ time.

New Global Grub Hits the Map with Spain Addition!

Who’s ready to dig into another bowl of Global Grub? If you’ve given a hearty affirmative answer, then you’re in for a real treat! The Spanish Global Grub will be hitting the map today at 15:00 MHQ time for a physical addition to the tastiest specials on the map!

In honor of today’s date (9/9), 9 Spanish Global Grub specials will be deployed. They will join other physical Global Grub specials such as Pakistan, Korea, Greece, and more! They will bounce to Greenies every 12 hours or when captured.

Points

  • Cap: 200
  • CapOn (Host): 100

Each time you capture a Global Grub special, you will earn a badge containing a dish of food that is unique to the flag pin country. Capturing the Spain Global Grub will earn you the following delicious badge:

Paella is a traditional Spanish dish unlike any other! We’re not exaggerating when we say this mouthwatering mixture is unforgettable. Traditional Spanish paella includes jumbo shrimp, broth, chicken thighs, chorizo sausage, prosciutto, mussels, yellow rice, peas, plenty of spices and flavoring, and of course, saffron! There are many different variations and takes on this dish, with ingredients added and substituted at will. In the end, you’re left with a delicious bowl of grains, protein, and veggies coated in a beautiful blend of spices and flavors!

The Global Grub specials will be bouncing around the globe for the remainder of the year before leaving the map on 12/31/2019 at 23:59 MHQ time. You will have until then to try your luck capturing these very rare specials. Don’t forget that our overall Global Grub capture line allows you more opportunities than ever to earn Global Grub badges!

Weapons Weekend Means Worldwide Fun for All!

Who’s ready for some excitement?! We’re happy to announce that MHQ Bash Weekend will also kick off Weapons Weekend worldwide! If you find yourself wondering what is Weapons Weekend?!, we’re happy to share that it won’t disappoint. Weapons Weekend means double points on all Clan Weapon activity from Friday 9/27 at 00:01 MHQ time through Sunday 9/29 at 23:59 MHQ time! That means it’s a weekend of fun that all players can partake in, regardless of whether or not you’ll be joining us in North Texas!

Weapons Weekend

This month is all about MedZEEval Times, so be sure to stock up on as many Clan Weapons as you can before the big weekend! You can earn Clan Weapons by competing in Clan Wars, but for those who didn’t join a Clan in time for September Clan Wars, you can pick up a handful of Clan Weapon Munzees in each of our September MunzPaks! PLUS something special will be going on with all Unicorn and Dragon Mythological Munzee Variants during Bash weekend, so be sure to stay tuned! 

We want everybody around the world to showcase their warrior prowess, so expect some more announcements as the month goes on. Although we’ll have a handful of warriors with us in person at MHQ Bash, the rest of the world should prepare for battle, too! And, of course, even though our event packages are no longer for sale, you can RSVP on the event calendar anytime to join in on the fun in person!

And while all of this might be getting you excited, we do have one final bit of news to share…

Clan Wars Update!

The development team has been hard at work on a brand new update to the Munzee app that will take the Clan Wars experience to a whole new level! While we’re not revealing all of the fun details just yet, we will begin beta testing very soon. So if you’re part of the beta testing group, stay tuned for more info!
