MH-Qlue Makes for a Real Whodunnit!

Breaking news, Munzers! The CzeeO has been attacked and kidnapped at MHQ, and now you have to find out whodunnit before it’s too late! A total of 1,949 MH-Qlue specials will hit the map from October 22 at 00:01 MHQ time through November 6 at 23:59 MHQ time for over two weeks of mystery and fun!

The MH-Qlue specials will feature 1 physical type and 3 virtual scatter types. The virtuals will NOT be blastable, so you’re going to have to get out there to earn them! Ready to hear the details of this multi-layered game within a game? Detectives, let’s dive right in!

MH-Qlue Special

There will be one MH-Qlue bouncing type that bounces to Greenies, Mystery Munzees, and physical Elemental Mystery Munzees every 6 hours or when captured. They WILL be attracted to Munzee Magnets (also available in 5 packs) on Greenies. When capped, the MH-Qlue special will scatter 3 virtual card icons nearby.

Points:

  • Capture: 70 points
  • Cap On: 70 points

The MH-Qlue physical bouncer will bounce to the following:

  • Greenies
  • Mystery Munzees
  • Fire Mystery Munzees
  • Water Mystery Munzees
  • Ice Mystery Munzees
  • Earth Mystery Munzees

Virtual Card Scatters

After an MH-Qlue Special is capped, one of each card type will be deployed as a virtual scatter within 700 feet. These will be visible to everyone for 1 hour or until it is captured. All virtual scatters will be worth 49 Capture points each. The cards will appear on the map as follows:

When the player caps a card, they will randomly earn one of four icons, similar to the Magic 8 Ball specials. Each card type will have four different possibilities. While you might have guessed that it was Rob with the Ban Hammer at MHQ, the actual Suspect Cards will feature the following 4 persons of interest:

Suspect Cards

    • University Professor Corn
    • Mister Zee
    • Mademoiselle Eventa
    • General Green E.

However, the Ban Hammer is one of the weapon options at hand. The 4 Weapons Cards will appear as follows:

Weapon Cards

  • Ban Hammer
  • External Battery
  • Unicorn Horn
  • Globe

Lastly, are you ready to determine the scene of the crime? The 4 Crime Scene Cards will appear as follows:

Crime Scene Cards

    • The Production Room
    • The Videocast Studio
    • The Munzee Museum
    • The CzeeO’s Office

As you earn different pairings you’ll have different scenarios as to what happened to the CzeeO. Was he attacked in the Munzee Museum, with the Unicorn Horn, by Mademoiselle Eventa? Perhaps it was Uni Professor Corn, with the External Battery, in The Videocast Studio? We’ll reveal the true series of events once the specials have left the map, but in the meantime capture as many clues as you can!

Badges

What’s a game of amateur detective without a badge? Fortunately we have more than one badge in store for this whodunnit special! There are 3 badges you can earn for MH-Qlue captures, though we’re only going to reveal the first in the series. It will appear as follows:

MH-Qlue: Board To Death- Capture one MH-Qlue Special

To discover the rest of the badges, you’ll just have to put your detective skills to the test! What do you think— can you help us find out what happened to the CzeeO?!

Munzee Toolkit Munzday: klc1960

One of the best parts about Munzee is that you can play how you want. Everyone goes about playing a bit differently, and that leads to some very creative and innovative uses of objects. From containers to bags to maintenance, we always encounter something new when we meet players. We want to showcase your Munzee Toolkits to see how you play the game and possibly even inspire other players who may need help! This week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes from klc1960!

Today’s featured Munzee Toolkit is brought to us by Kim Callahan, or klc1960 as she is known in Munzee. Klc1960 has earned nearly half a million points since joining Munzee last year, a feat made possible thanks to her Munzee Toolkit! Hailing from Beaver Falls, PA, klc1960 has taken the time to share what she carefully packs for her Munzee adventures!

klc1960 Toolkit

Hi… my name is Kim Callahan, and this is my Munzee Toolkit aka Munzee Bag. I purchased it in the cosmetic section at Walmart. It’s a travel makeup bag that came with the 3 oz bottle for air travel, which I use for other things. I love that the bag is compact, it’s “vinyl” so it cleans easy, and that it carries everything I need in an easy to transport way.

Pic #1: The bag is a bit flashy, so guys probably won’t like it ?

Pic #2: The outside zipper pocket holds my selfie stick, scissors, hole punch, flashlight, markers, small notebook, self sticking business card size laminators, zip ties, and alcohol wipes, as well as anything else I might throw in there.

Pic #3: Everything is in its place in the outside zipper pocket.

Pic #4: The large inside zipper pocket contains my sticker box, phone charger, and various cut munzees, as well as my Personals.

Pic #5: Everything is in its place in the large inside zipper pocket.

Pic #6: The small zipper pocket contains envelopes of various munzee sheets.

Pic #7: Lastly, the bag has a handy dandy hanger if you should ever need one!!

Two New Iconic Locations Join the Map!

Today is a good day, because we have two new Iconic Location Munzees to add to the map! Like our Australia Iconic Locations, these new munzees will join the ranks of our Tourism Munzees! You can now locate the New Hampshire and New Mexico Iconic Location Munzees by turning on your Tourism filter!

These two new Iconic Locations will join the map today at 10:00 MHQ time to offer more opportunity for exploration! All Iconic Location Munzees are deployed by an MHQ account based on a database of historical markers in order to encourage players to get out and about and navigate new terrains. The points for each of these virtual munzees will be as follows:

New Hampshire Iconic Location

  • Capture Points: 17-76
  • Deploy Points: 0
  • CapOn Points: 0 (Because it’s an MHQ account)

New Mexico Iconic Location

  • Capture Points: 18-50
  • Deploy Points: 0
  • CapOn Points: 0

Like the other Iconic and Historical Location Munzees, these latest additions will not be blastable. Additionally, captures will count towards the overall Tourism line of badges. Tourism badges are linked primarily to the Historic and Iconic Munzees from different countries around the world, as well as states in the U.S.

These latest Iconic Locations couldn’t have been made possible without the help of players! Thanks to the players Th8re (New Hampshire) and Vadotech (New Mexico) for helping us gather a database of historical markers in order to make this launch possible!

If you notice any Iconic Location or Historic Munzees deployed in the wrong place, please contact support with the name/URL of the munzee and correct information. Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for all the lates news!

Enjoy your exploration, and Munzee on!

Munzee Community Gives Back to North Texas Food Bank!

Munzee is awesome for many reasons, but the players are certainly one of the best parts! Our recent Bash weekend started things off in the best way possible with a community food drive donation! We asked players to bring food donations to Bash Registration  for us to donate to the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB).

Members of the North Texas Food Bank arrived at MHQ to pick up all of the player donations collected at Bash

Players then earned a spin on the IRL Prize Wheel for every 4 canned food items or 1 jar of peanut butter they brought, for a maximum of 3 spins per player. It was a win-win situation that created fun for all while giving back to an excellent cause. And thanks to player generosity, we’re happy to announce that we collected an impressive stack of donations!

Together we collected a total of 369 necessary food item donations! They included:

  • 83 jars of peanut butter
  • 277 cans of food
  • 9 bags of rice and oatmeal

In addition to the food donations, a $600 monetary donation was also made out to the NTFB on behalf of Freeze Tag. Funds for this donation were gathered from a portion of profits from our Peony garden pins ($500) and Peony Personal tags ($100). A big thank you goes out to all players who brought food items or supported the donations through their Peony purchases!

North Texas Food Bank

The NTFB is a local social benefit organization that distributes donated food to North Texans in need. In North Texas, 1 in 6 people don’t have a reliable source of daily food. Every dollar donated to the NTFB is able to provide three meals to families, children, and seniors in North Texas. These nutritious meals are distributed with the support of the community, so the money earned from the Peony sales will personally bring 1,800 meals to North Texans in need!

Thanks again for helping us support this awesome cause! We love seeing what can happen when our community comes together.

Munzee on!

Peanut butter is one of the most requested NTFB donation items.

Vacation Condos Mean There’s a New Destination Munzee in Town!

Planning on taking any trips? Luckily there is a new place for you to book your stay! Our latest Destination Munzee is here to offer available rooms to players, so please welcome the Vacation Condo Munzee to the map today at 10:00 MHQ time! You can pick up the Vacation Condo Munzee from the Freeze Tag Online Store for $5 each. There is NO limit on purchase quantity per player. We’ve also removed the monthly limits on resort purchases as of now. You can shop the entire Destination Collection HERE!

The Vacation Condo Munzee will be joining the Motel, Hotel, virtual Resort, and Timeshare as the latest Destination Munzee.  For those that don’t know, in the US and Canada a condominium (condo for short) is an independently sellable living space that is otherwise similar to an apartment building. The difference is condominiums can be leased for shorter terms and are often used as vacation or rental properties. Like its predecessors, the virtual Vacation Condo will be a more complex Munzee type that offers the benefits of multiple munzees in one location without additional stickers by allowing players to “rent” out available “rooms.” Ready to hear about the Vacation Condo details?

Vacation Condo Details

The virtual item will appear as coral colored (above left) for the primary icon and mint colored (above right) for the room icon. This new Munzee type is like a mix of the Timeshare Munzee and Virtual Resort Munzee. This virtual features 5 rooms, so the first 5 players to cap the Vacation Condo get a room deployed*. Here’s the kicker though, rooms only stay deployed for 30 days.

At the end of 30 days the rented room is archived and a new room is then available for the first player to cap the Vacation Condo. This new room will be available for any player, including the person who just had their room archived, which means after 30 days you can recap to earn another room! This becomes an endless capping and deploying option as you travel, or within your hometown.

Proximity: A Vacation Condo must be at least 2,500 feet (762 meters) away from any other Vacation Condos and 500 feet (152.4 meters) away from Virtual Resort Munzees.

Rooms: There are 5 rooms available in the Vacation Condo. After 30 days a rented room will be archived and a new room will become available.

Deploy: 100 points, 10 points for room owner

Capture Radius: 500 feet (same as Resort), not blastable

Capture: 40 points, then 20 points per room rented (a full condo = 140 points)

CapOn: 80 points for Vacation Condo owner, 40 points per owner of a room.

Please keep in mind that the Vacation Condo must be deployed in-app and you must be at the location you want it to be deployed. It cannot be deployed online. To access the Vacation Condo, turn on your “Virtual – Destination” filter or select the “Premium – All Vacant Rooms” filter. For more information on how to deploy a Vacation Condo (or Virtual Resort), you can check out our Help Guide article

Destination Points Updates

The launch of the Vacation Condo today at 10:00 MHQ time also corresponds with a point update for ALL physical Destination Munzees! The point values for the Motel, Hotel, and Timeshare will all be doubled, while the points for virtual Resorts will remain the same. If you’re interested in earning these new deploy points, don’t forget about the SWAP feature on your OLD motels and hotels! That means tons of Clan Wars points for swapping, since this creates a NEW deploy!

The points for Motels will now be updated as follows:

  • Capture: 20 points per Motel, 20 points per room
  • CapOn for the owner: 10 points per room filled + 10 points for Motel, 100 points if full
  • CapOn for room owner: 50 – 10 depending on which room is owned. Here is some detailed math if you are interested. ((# of rooms filled + 1) – (room number)) x 10
  • Deploy: Motel 100 points, Room- 50 points

The points for Hotels will now be updated as follows:

  • Capture: 40 points per Hotel, 16 points per room
  • CapOn for the owner: 10 points per room filled + 10 points for Hotel, 150 points if full
  • CapOn for room owner: 100 – 10 depending on which room is owned. Here is some detailed math if you are interested. ((# of rooms filled + 1) – (room number)) x 10
  • Deploy: Hotel 150 points, Room- 100 points

The points for Timeshares will now be updated as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points for Timeshare, 25 points per room
  • CapOn: 100 points for Timeshare owner, 40 points for the owner of a room
  • Deploy: Timeshare 100 points, 10 deploy points for room owner when a room is deployed

The points for Resorts will remain the same:

  • Capture: 15 points per Resort, 5 points per room — Total ranges from 15 points (no rooms filled yet) to 90 (all 15 rooms filled)
  • CapOn for the owner: 3 points per room filled + 3 points for Resort, 50 points if full
  • CapOn for room owner: 45 – 3 depending on which room is owned. Here is some detailed math if you are interested. ((# of rooms filled + 1) – (room number)) x 3
  • Deploy: 50 points

Badges

Lastly, the Vacation Condo Munzees will have their own line of badges that will be added to the Destination Munzee category. You will be able to earn badges for both capture and deploy for a total of 6 new badges! The first badge in both the capture and deploy lines will appear as follows:

Destination Designs

Once you have your Destination booked, you’ve got to travel in style! We have a new line of Personal Tags and Custom Luggage Tags featuring the different Destination Munzee types. You can find these in the Freeze Tag Online Store as well, but quantities are limited! Please note that the luggage tags do not come with a personal code on them, but instead feature your name and address. These details will be pulled directly from your shipping address in the order details.

Ready to rent some rooms or book your next 30 day stay? We’re so excited to see where everyone starts deploying their new Vacation Condos. A big thank you for helping grow the map in new and unique ways!

Munzee on!

*Please note that the advanced deploy circles on the website are not currently available for the Vacation Condo, but will be soon. We appreciate your patience.

Announcing Survey Results and Selected Winners!

Last month we released a poll requesting player feedback, and we’re happy to report that the responses were plentiful! Today we’re going to share some of the general consensuses gathered from the survey, as well as announce the participating survey players who were randomly selected to receive prizes. A big thank you goes out to everyone who took the time to send us your feedback in an effort to make Munzee the best player experience as possible! We’re excited to share with you what fellow players had to say about gameplay!

Survey Winners

Before we get into the survey feedback, let’s first announce the winners! Though players were able to submit the survey anonymously, those who entered their usernames were all submitted to a randomized prize drawing. We’re happy to announce that the following 10 players were all randomly selected to be awarded 2 Virtuals, 2 virtual colors, 1 virtual Joystick, and 1 Blast Cap! The lucky winners are:

  • ACCLanMan
  • gingercurlz
  • janzattic
  • jurikvandspol
  • madewell
  • OldSchoolSkater
  • SolWalk74
  • ufrie
  • xCrooksy
  • TX_Diva

Congratulations to these 10 players for being randomly selected! Your prizes have been added to your accounts!

Survey Feedback

The results are in! While we won’t be revealing all of our player feedback for the sake of brevity, we are excited to share several key things we learned from player responses. Due to a very large sample size, the following results have terrific projectability and a very low margin of error of only 1-2%. That means we are thrilled to place a confidence level of 95% on the following results.

Favorite Part of Gameplay

We asked players to reveal their favorite part of Munzee gameplay, and it turns out that the majority of players (66.6%) prefer both physical and virtual gameplay equally, striking a comfortable balance. 21.3% of players preferred strictly virtual play, while only 12.1% enjoyed just physical play. It appears that many players enjoy mastering the many aspects of Munzee.

Rate of Release

With different munzees released at a fairly consistent rate, we decided to see if players were overwhelmed or underwhelmed by any release rates.  It turns out that players reported the rate of release being “just right” for new Munzee Owned Bouncers (52.69%), Player Owned Bouncers (48.66%), and permanent Munzee types (54.03%). These statistics reveal that the majority of players are quite pleased with current gameplay release rates.

Biggest Benefit of Munzee

Here at Munzee, we’re all about playing your way, which led us to ask a very important question that yielded some pleasant results: what do you think is the biggest benefit of playing Munzee? Turns out that the most players enjoy keeping active (45.3%), followed by exploring new areas (27.6%), collecting different game pieces (10.3%), and meeting new people/players (9.7%).

Thanks again to all players who took the time to respond to the survey and provide feedback! We love hearing your ideas, suggestions, and feedback. We’ll keep all of these results in mind for future expansion and releases!

Munzee Toolkit Munzday: Slunicko

One of the best parts about Munzee is that you can play how you want. Everyone goes about playing a bit differently, and that leads to some very creative and innovative uses of objects. From containers to bags to maintenance, we always encounter something new when we meet players. We want to showcase your Munzee Toolkits to see how you play the game and possibly even inspire other players who may need help! This week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes from Slunicko!

Today’s featured Munzee Toolkit is brought to us by international player Slunicko! A Munzee player for nearing 4 years, Slunicko has amassed over 11 million points thanks to her Munzee strategies. And when it comes to packing her toolkit, this frequently traveling player is all about keeping things light and easy, proving that quality over quantity is all you need sometimes!

Slunicko Toolkit

This is my Munzee Toolkit. My munzee name is Slunicko, which means “sunshine” in Czech language. My civil name is Gina, and besides Munzeeing I am an international hospital planner.

I travel light through the whole world a lot. This means my travel kit must be light, ultralight. For my world travels, I use only a small plastic bag filled with generics, situated in the case of my phone (see below).

The rest of my munzee resources are packed in the travel vanity bag I got from Air France (already searching for smaller, more colorful one?). It contains, besides all types of munzee stickers (sorted in small plastic bags again), a mini lamp (sometimes my phone rejects this function) and scissors (I even got them free for traveling from Vienna to Grenaa with my hand luggage from friendly customs).

However, I prefer cutting all I might need before travels, and the generics I order are peel-off, so there’s really no need for scissors. The majority of my munzees are credits nowadays anyhow.

Share Your Kit!

If you have a Munzee Toolkit that you’d like to show off, you can email us at iloveyou@munzee.com with the subject “Munzee Toolkit.” Make sure to include:

  • What made you decide to use those items.
  • Any other relevant details.

Please feel free to include as much information about your gameplay as you wish to share! We want to see your creativity and learn how you play, so show us what you’ve got! And for Munzee tips and tricks, you can always check out our Help Guide articles!

MedZEEval Times Recap! Looking Back at MHQ Bash 2019

It’s officially been 2 weeks since players joined us for the start of MedZEEval Times weekend, and we’re still basking in the social success of MHQ Bash  6! Whether you’re already ready to take a trip down memory lane for this medieval-themed weekend, or you want to check out the fun we had in North Texas, this Bash recap is a wonderful way to showcase some Munzee memories!

If these pictures are making you feel left out because you weren’t able to join us this year, fear not! We announced at the end of Bash that next year’s MHQ Bash 7 will take place from Sept 25-27, 2020! That means it’s time to mark your calendars for some unforgettable future fun!

MHQ Bash Registration

Things started off on September 27 as we opened the doors to players for MHQ Bash Registration on Friday evening. Our first event of the weekend saw players meet up, check in, pick up purchases, shop our pop-up store, receive MHQ office tours, and earn prizes! The IRL Prize Wheel was present, with players earning a spin (for a maximum of 3 spins per player) for every 4 food items or 1 jar of peanut butter they brought as a part of our joint donation to the North Texas Food Bank.

Players were welcome to join us at all events for free with the Court Jester package, though there was the option to pre-order the King’s Court package. Players who purchased this package were able to pick up the following items:

  • Name Tag and Lanyard
  • Clan War Bag
  • T-Shirt
  • 2 Blast Caps
  • Munzee Magnet and Virtual Magnet
  • Special Edition Munzee Foam Sword commemorative item
  • A new in-game item that attendees will be the first to receive once released

While plenty of Texans joined us at MHQ for the festivities, we were thrilled to have players travel in from all parts of the country and world to celebrate Munzee with the international Freeze Tag Team. We concluded the night by drawing names for some additional IRL Prize Wheel spins, which saw the addition of two lucky players winning tickets to join us at Medieval Times in Dallas the following evening for dinner and a show, as well as a variety of other prizes being handed out. Players also had the opportunity to participate in an Eventzee photo scavenger hunt.

Knight’s Armor Eventzee Fun

Eventzee was in the spotlight on Saturday morning as players joined us in the Village at Fairview for an Eventzee hunt that saw players scouting out staff members holding various parts of the Knight’s Armor, as well as Clan Weapons, around the North Texas shopping center. Rob, Tamara, Craig, Mari, Guilherme, and Daniel spread out with pieces of the Knight’s Armor, while Louise, Mick, and Matt were stationed with Clan Weapons. Eventzee players traveled throughout the shopping center to snap photos for a fun morning of exercise and socialization that was followed by WallaBee‘s WallaBash afternoon celebration. And that was only half the fun for many Munzee players on day 2 of Bash!

A Night with Knights

In addition to the free Court Jester package and priced King’s Court package, players were also able to pre-purchase the package add-on of A Night with Knights. This granted them full access to joining us at Medieval Times in Dallas for a medieval times themed dinner and show that featured horse riding, jousting, and medieval immersion fun. A four-course meal was also included with purchase, which wrapped up day 2 of MedZEEval Times weekend.

Storm the Castle Eventzee Fun

Our final event took place on Sunday morning as we hosted our second Eventzee hunt of the weekend with our Storm the Castle fun run. Players enjoyed a sunny day in Russel Creek Park in Plano as they traveled around to the Eventzee Battlements (Tamara), WallaBee Wall (Robbie), Munzee Castle (Daniel), and Freeze Tag Fortress (Mari) for some photo hunt fun. Thankfully the Texas heat was a bit more forgiving, and players and staff alike were able to close out a successful weekend with sunshine, exercise, and smiles.

In addition to the scheduled events, players had the opportunity to meet up, socialize, and explore the area to earn an enormous amount of points. Thanks to the placement of special gardens, such as the Pink Peony, players from around the world were able to join in on the fun and earn CapOn points, as well as shop our worldwide weekend sale and enjoy the Knight’s Armor specials on the map!

Thanks again to everyone who came out to join in on the fun! We can’t wait to see what fun 2020 has in store for Bash in addition to all the events and fun along the way. In the meantime, players can get in on some scary fun socialization by enjoying the Halloween Event Packages!

Munzee on!
