Tomorrow is the solstice and the official changing of seasons! We thought it might be fun to celebrate with these Open Edition cards so that they can be deployed when appropriate for where you’re from!

These World Sushi Day Specials Are A Feast for the Eyes!

World Sushi Day specials are now live on the map for everyone and will remain available until July 8 at 23:59 MHQ. You can use the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters to more easily view them on the map. There are quite a few different specials, so check out a breakdown of each below!

Sushi Ingredients

There will be 658 Sushi Ingredient Specials available for capture on the map — that breaks down to 80 of each type except for Puffer Fish, of which there are only 18. These are attracted to either Physical or Virtual Magnets depending on their type. None of these specials are blastable.

Landing Pads:

Bounce Times:

  • Rice: every hour
  • Nori: every 2 hours
  • Cucumber: every 3 hours
  • Fried Egg: every 4 hours
  • Prawn: every 5 hours
  • Salmon: every 6 hours
  • Roe: every 7 hours
  • Tuna: every 8 hours
  • Puffer Fish: every 9 hours

Points:

  • Capture: 80
  • CapOn: 18

Sushi Badges

There are two lines of badges related to Sushi Ingredient specials.

The first line is based on overall Sushi Ingredient captures. These badges will give you all of the tools you need for preparing sushi! The first badge in this line is a Rolling Mat earned by capping one Ingredient of any type!

The second line of badges is based on capping different combinations of Sushi Ingredient specials. Make sure to cap at least one of each special so you can try each type of roll!

Although you’ll be collecting Sushi Ingredients, you better leave the actual preparation to the experts!

Sushi Masters

In addition to the Sushi Ingredients there will also be three rare Sushi Master Specials bouncing around the map! There will be a total of 18 Sushi Master Specials available for capture — that breaks down to 6 of each type. More Sushi Masters may emerge if they pass inspection throughout this celebration! These are attracted to both Physical or Virtual Magnets on their respective landing pads. These are officially tPOBs on the Munzee account and are not blastable.

There will also be a unique badge for capturing each type of Sushi Master so be sure you track down at least one of each! How else will you reserve a table at their five star sushi restaurants?

Join us as we celebrate our favorite cyclist with double points!

Surprise! It’s double points on ALL Flat Lou activity starting today, June 17 at 13:00 through June 21 at 23:59. That means all deploys, captures, and cap ons will be worth double points.

WHY? We are so excited to support Louise in her first professional cycling race we thought it would be best to share it with all of you! She is cycling as part of the Škoda DSI Cycling Academy Race Team in the Škoda V-Women’s Tour. This is a 3 stage race taking place today, Thursday, and Friday at 7pm British time. The race is being aired on BBC Sport in the UK and will be available to watch on Facebook and Youtube for the rest of the world.

We hope you will join us in cheering on Louise and her team during this amazing moment in her cycling career. During this time we will also be making a donation to World Bicycle Relief for purchases of Flat Lou in the online store. This donation will be $200 PLUS $0.25 for every Flat Lou sold between now and Sunday at midnight.

Complete Your Clan Wars Play Set With Trojan Unicorn Badges!

Last month, we announced the debut of the Trojan Unicorn and teased a new related badge line. The first Trojan Unicorns will be deployed soon (as long as players who’ve reached Level 3 collect their rewards!), so you’ll have a chance at earning these shiny new badges! Deploying a Trojan Unicorn will earn you the following badge:

To go along with this deploy badge, there are 6 capture badges to earn with an action-figure theme. These badges are for Trojan Unicorn captures, so be sure to track one down whenever it’s nearby! Think you can collect the whole set of CLAN WARS action figures? We won’t spoil all of the action figures, but you can check out the first badge in the line below:

Everything is Crystal Clear With These 20/20 Vision Munzees!

These days, you might be doing a lot of online window shopping, especially if you’ve had the time to tidy up your house recently, and have things in bags ready to donate! Perhaps your attentions have been caught by something sparkly and shiny, awakening the hoarder dragon within you? Our eleventh 20/20 Vision Munzee will give you the ability to see the smallest imperfections! These precise jewel-appraising tools were deployed this afternoon at 15:00 MHQ. Have you ever seen one of these being used?

Only six Jeweler Loupes will be deployed, and they will bounce to Greenies every 12 hours or when captured. These will be attracted to Physical Magnets though so be sure to stock up! 

Points:

  • Cap: 200 points
  • CapOn (Host): 100 points

Capturing the Jeweler Loupe will add this shiny Bright Eye badge to your collection! Remember, down the line we’ll be putting out an overall capture line, so don’t forget to check back for updates!

Why are these tools called “loupes”? Those who’ve studied the French language at a basic level might remember the word “loup,” which means “wolf” in English — but those words are not connected at all. However, “loupe” is French in origin! If you know a bit more French, you know that the French word “loupe” means “magnifying glass” in English, which makes much more sense. The word originally meant something closer to “imperfect gem,” but as you can see, its usage has evolved to refer to the item used to examine such objects.

You’ll be able to capture the 20/20 Vision specials on other players’ munzees as well as your own for the remainder of the year! As a reminder, all 20/20 Vision specials will leave the map on 12/31/2020 at 23:59 MHQ. More unique 20/20 Vision specials will launch throughout the year so keep on the lookout — you won’t want to miss out on these bouncing bifocals!

Introducing the All NEW Poseidon Modern Myth Munzee!

All the activity that’s been brewing in the Munzee oceans has attracted the notice of the king of the sea, Poseidon! He kicks off an all new line of munzees that we’re calling Modern Myths, which our WallaBee friends should recognize!

Poseidon will be available for sale starting at 10:00 MHQ time today until 10:00 MHQ time on June 15th!

Poseidon Details

The Poseidon Modern Myth will be available for purchase HERE! He will be spotted bouncing around to Greenies, Water Mysteries, Blue Colored Virtuals*, Aquamarines, Treehouses, and Skylands every 12 hours or when capped.

Each Poseidon is numbered and will be owned by a Munzee player. You can pick this Myth up for $20! The sale is open to anyone regardless of other Mythological ownership. Only ONE (1) Poseidon is allowed per account.

Points

  • Deploy: 250
  • Capture: 200
  • CapOn: 100

What makes a Modern Myth modern? Well aside from his day job as a lifeguard, what also makes Poseidon unique is that when he is captured 3 new munzees will also be scattered nearby — these will either be Tridents or Lifebuoys!

These will scatter like feathers so there are no CapOn points but they are worth 50 points for capture!

Poseidon is able to be upgraded via a Bouncer Upgrade Credit, which gives the ability to be “nudged” or be renamed. The upgrade credit will give you the ability to “nudge” your Poseidon to a new munzee up to three times a day, following the MHQ 24-hour day, after it has been on its host munzee for at least three hours. This nudging ability is only available for the owner via the munzee’s webpage and is not available in the app.

Your munzee will still retain its unique number, but feel free to get creative when it comes to renaming your Poseidon! Just be sure to follow the Player Code of Conduct, and remember Munzee maintains a family-friendly environment.

If you’re hoping to cap one of these brand new Modern Myths, then you’re in luck! Poseidon will be attracted to Munzee Magnets and Virtual Munzee Magnets. You can access Poseidon by turning on your “Only Expiring Specials” and “Only Mythological” filters.

Deploying Poseidon will earn you the following badge:

All captures will count toward the Myth Collectors badge line. There is also a line of hidden Capture badges that you can earn for Poseidon captures, with 3 badges currently available, but more to come! The first in this line will appear as follows:

Eventzee App Update In Relation To Munzee

We’re excited to announce a new version of the Eventzee app (and logo!) will be available for download later this week! The latest version of Eventzee has been totally reworked to offer virtual events and scavenger hunts for any occasion.

As excited as we are for the Eventzee team, there will be a transition period regarding the new app. You can read all about the new features, exciting partnerships, and more on the Eventzee blog. The purpose of this announcement on the Munzee blog is to identify some of the key changes, and how they affect Munzee and Eventzee’s relationship.

The new Eventzee app is an entirely new build, so when the new app is available you will not update your current version of the Eventzee app. Instead, you will need to search for the new version in your phone’s app store. This means that the Eventzee database has been restructured as its own and will no longer be a part of Munzee. 

New User Sign-up:

Since Eventzee will no longer be sharing databases, Munzee and Eventzee accounts will no longer be linked. So if you choose to join an Eventzee hunt you will need to create a new account.

Munzee Events:

Moving forward, Eventzee hunts will no longer be an additional add-on item for Munzee Events. This means that bonus points, and badges, etc will no longer be available for future events. However, this is subject to change as we develop our plan on incorporating this new app into Munzee events! 

Please note that some Fall Into Spring events with Eventzee packages are still scheduled on the calendar. These will continue as planned, but players will need to use the previous Eventzee app in order to participate. The new app will be replacing the older app in the App and Play Stores at the end of this week. So if you wish to participate in these Munzee Event hunts you need to make sure to keep the older version of the app on your phone since you will not be able to redownload it. 

Eventzee Legacy Badges

Badges currently available to be earned in Eventzee will become legacy badges. Legacy badges earned will still show in the Munzee app, and any Eventzee hunts completed on the old system (for example at a Fall Into Spring event) will count toward them. The new Eventzee app will not show these badges. 

Eventzee Themed Huntz

The themed scavenger hunts sold earlier this year will not be available in the new Eventzee app.  Anyone who purchased these hunts will still be able to finish them using the old Eventzee app. As stated above, the old app will be supported for the time being, but you must have it downloaded to your phone before the new app is released. 

We appreciate all of your support and hope that should your company, family, or organization need a customized scavenger hunt tool you look no further than Eventzee. This new app is top of the line, and will be able to offer more opportunities than the previous app has ever been able to. Thank you all again, we’re excited to see where Eventzee goes from here!

MHQ Bash Cancelled for 2020

We regret to announce that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our annual MHQ Bash in McKinney at the end of September. We think this is in the best interest of our worldwide community. We are discussing some options that could see a worldwide celebration in place of the Texas based Bash but don’t have details at this time. Thanks for understanding and we hope to see you next year.

Aquatic Baby Animals Have Come Out to Play!

Once we started thinking about adding turtles and jellyfish to the game, we couldn’t stop coming up with more animals to add! Luckily, we found a few more animals already swimming around under the ZEE! Starting at 12:00 MHQ on June 5th, Baby Animal specials will begin bouncing around the map until 23:59 MHQ on June 21st.

Baby Animals Details

Players of our sister app, WallaBee, may recognize the art for some of these adorable bouncers, but we’ve added a few new ones to the mix as well! Can you guess which ones they are?

500 of these specials (100 of each released over the next 5 hours) will bounce to the following landing pads:

To shake things up a bit, we’ve set different timers for each Aquatic Baby Animal. Each type will bounce at the listed time below, or when captured.

  • Narwhal- Bounce every 6 hours
  • Penguin- Bounce every 5 hours
  • Crab- Bounce every 4 hours
  • Seal Pup- Bounce every 3 hours
  • Shark- Bounce every 2 hours

Hopefully these varying bounce times will allow everyone the opportunity to capture some of each type! They will be worth 150 points for Capture and 50 points for CapOn, so you don’t want to miss out!

The Baby Animals will be attracted to Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets, respectively. However, they will not be blastable. To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Badges

Additionally, there will be six NEW badges to earn based on the number of Aquatic Baby Animal specials you capture. But just how many captures it takes to earn all 6 badges will be kept a secret! However, we will reveal the first badge in the line, which appears as follows:

Marine Map- Capture 1 Aquatic Baby Animal of any type.
