ZeeOps- Operation: Training Camp (August 2020)

Agents, we’d like to commend you for a job well done last month! The recon missions all went smoothly and we have a wealth of information to analyze. As we are still in the planning stages for our next steps, we determined that this would be the perfect opportunity for you all to brush up on old skills — after all, there’s always room for improvement! This month, we’ll be sending you to our training camps to revive that muscle memory. Unlike the silhouettes depicted in the badge, make sure to maintain your distance from others, even other agents, as the missions and your health may be compromised.

This month’s missions focus on the humble greenie and virtual, the backbone of all our technology. However, to keep the training from being too bland, we’ve also included RUMs, Ice Mysteries, Evolutions, Zodiacs, and POBs in the missions as well. For your efforts you can a Jellyfish or Turtle, among other rewards, depending on the Operation that you choose. Once deployed and fully grown, they can travel the world and be helpful in making connections with other agents. Like last month, we’ve placed the full mission details on pages that are only accessible with your agent login — the link is provided below.

August 2020 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You will only have until August 31st at 23:59 MHQ to complete this month’s Operations. Only 2 Operation types are available for this month- the Basic Op (3 days) and the Advanced Op (7 days).

You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Remember that if you hit a snag at any point in your Operation you can use the Mission Mulligan feature to keep going!

By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the “Operation: Training Camp” badge.

This month’s Missions are found at https://www.munzee.com/ops/tasks

To start new Ops and view this month’s rewards please visit https://www.munzee.com/ops/new

On behalf of MHQ, we thank you for your continued service.

This message will self destruct in 3… 2… 1…

August QRewzdays Schedule

Our birthday month may have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end. Those of you who are able to safely munzee outside may find some satisfaction and purpose in a little map maintenance. After all, you never know when a new Munzee player will emerge near you! As always, everything we do may be subject to change. Remember to follow your local guidelines and Stay Home if required.

It’s time to mark your calendars for August QRewzdays to earn some QRewzee points! We’ve got a nice sprinkling of them throughout the month, so there’s likely a day that works for you! It’s the two non-clan days as usual and then all the multiples of 3 and 5 so it’s easy to remember!

The August QRewzdays are as follows:

  • August 1 at 00:01 MHQ time through August 3rd at 23:59 MHQ time,
  • The following dates beginning at 00:01 MHQ time until 23:59 MHQ time on the same day: August 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 15, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 30

Remember that QRew and ZeeQRew status can be earned or revoked at 00:01 MHQ time on the 1st and 15th, so plan accordingly if you want to achieve or retain either title!

Munzee on!

P.S. Are you looking for the Flat Friends schedule? Remember that last month, we announced that the Forever Flat schedule is now in effect! So there’s no schedule to memorize, Flat Friends will always be on the map!

Camp Competition Week 3

It’s time for another weekly check-in! We’re now in the home stretch, but we still wanted to give you some reminders as you continue Camp Munzee gameplay!

By now you should be familiar with CuppaZee’s Camps Leaderboard — but we don’t mind linking to it again! Maybe the only time you check it is when you read through this post!

Active players on ALL teams will receive prizes each week! Prizes for the previous week were awarded on Monday. If you were active (i.e. captured a munzee) during Week 2 and did not receive a prize (check your Item History on the Credits page), please e-mail support@munzee.com. Prizes for this week are starting to be awarded TODAY! It may take a while for everyone to receive their prizes, so please wait a few days before e-mailing Support about Week 3 prizes.

As we stated in the original blog post, the top team at the final check-in will receive double points on certain Myth captures for a whole month! We’re also planning to award additional prizes, but you’ll just have to wait and see!

Now that we’ve got all of that out the way, it’s time to announce the results for the past week! Congratulations to Camp FrEEZ for keeping its place at the top!

We’d also like to congratulate Camp Cap-A-Lot for attaining the 2nd Place spot! The point differences between the camps are smaller than the previous weeks, which shows that all camps are working hard and that you have to fight to keep your spot! Just one more week left — keep up the good work!

Lastly, if you missed our quick social post last week, we just wanted to let you know that you can purchase Camp Personal Tags in the store! You can find them in the Camp Munzee Collection HERE!

Munzee on!

You’re Not Seeing Double — We’ve Got A New Badge Line For 20/20 Vision Munzees!

Ever since we released the 20/20 Vision Munzees at the start of this year, we’ve been promising a line of overall capture badges! We’re happy to announce that (1) no, we haven’t forgotten that promise and (2) they are finally a part of the game!

There are 6 capture badges to earn with art depicting all the different pairs of glasses you’ve seen before — and maybe some you haven’t! As mentioned above, these badges are for overall 20/20 Vision Munzee captures — not unique captures — so if you weren’t already motivated to capture the rare game pieces, we bet you are now! We won’t spoil all of the badges, but you can check out the first badge in the line below:

20/20 Eye Exam- capture one 20/20 Vision special of any type.

As these badge lines are retroactive, you may have already met the requirements for some of them, and should see them on your account soon! If not, please wait a few days as our system catches up with awarding these new badges to everyone who has earned them, before contacting support.

Happy hunting, and Munzee on!

Camp Counselor Specials Are Making a Special Visit to a Munzee Near You!

While waiting to receive your nominations for Camp Counselors for July’s POTM, we needed somebody to hold down the fort at Camp Munzee in the meantime. Who better than our own AlternaMyths, who boast not only a keen understanding of the game (being part of it themselves) and a great rapport with MHQ staff, but also a deep connection with the great outdoors!

Free from their counseling duties at Camp Munzee, Camp Counselor specials are now live on the map for everyone and will remain available until September 9 at 23:59 MHQ. You can use the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters to more easily view them on the map. Meet each of the counselors below!

Camp Counselors

There will be a total of 396 Camp Counselor Specials available for capture — that breaks down to 99 of each type. More Camp Counselors may emerge as the need arises for campers all over the world! These are attracted to both Physical or Virtual Magnets on their respective landing pads. These are officially tPOBs on the Munzee account and are not blastable.

Landing Pads:

Bounce Times:

  • every 4 hours

Points:

  • Capture: 199
  • CapOn: 19

Badges

There are two lines of badges related to Camp Counselor specials.

The first line is based on overall Camp Counselor captures. These badges will show you the Counselors in action guiding various camp activities! The first badge in this line is called Archery Allies and is earned by capping nine Counselors of any type!

The second line of badges is based on each of the four Camp Counselor specials. Make sure to cap at least one of each special so you can start your day off right!

You can sneak a peek at the first of each badge line below:

Please note that although these specials are based on AlternaMyth designs, these are unique tPOBs and they will not count toward the AlternaMyth Wrangler badge or any other Myth capture badges.

Camp Competition

While the Camp Counselors are certainly a part of Camp Munzee, capturing them will NOT earn your Camp points in our ongoing Camp Competition. We’re sticking to the water balloons and flags as outlined in our original post!

We hope you enjoy meeting the representative Camp Counselor for your Camp!

Munzee on!

Event Spotlight: Munzee Húsvét

While Munzee can certainly be a solo game if you choose, there’s no denying the appeal in meeting others who share your interests. Munzee Events are perhaps the best example of this, as they allow you to meet both old and new players in a safe, friendly environment. On top of that, there are usually activities, games, and — if you’re lucky — goodie bags! That being said, planning events requires a considerable amount of effort. So, to make it easier for prospective hosts (and maybe even recurring hosts), we decided to put the spotlight on past events, Munzee-Toolkit style! We hope this series of posts will inspire you to try hosting an event if you never have before, or provide you with ideas to spice up future events if you’re an old hand at it!

Today we’re featuring the Munzee Húsvét event, which took place on March 20, 2016 at Budapest, Hungary and was hosted by Attis.

Give us a brief summary about your event!

It was our first event (I was playing in a team with my son). At that time we were still quite new players – we registered in 2013 but we joined a clan just a few months before (the event) – we didn’t know a lot of players personally so it was a great opportunity to meet people.

What tips do you have when hosting an awesome event?

Choose a good, easy accessible location. Besides the new icons and badges, some small gifts, freebies, and tombolas are always attracting players.

What made your event unique?

As the event was related to Easter, we offered to all participants some Easter Bunny chocolates and eggs. Also, it was the first event in Hungary when Emerald Pins were given to each player who attended the event.

Would you like to highlight any future events you’re hosting?

https://calendar.munzee.com/event1593456498/

Thank you to Attis for being such a great host and submitting the details for this event! We will be reaching out to other past event hosts in the future, so keep an eye on your inbox!

Ravishing Rubiin Discovered at Camp Munzee Dig Site!

While you’re roughing it out in Camp Munzee, flint may be the rock you first associate with the element of fire — but there’s another, more striking candidate! Like the past stones, this radiant red beauty was borrowed from our sister app WallaBee! Joining the other Funfinity Stones, please welcome the Rubiin!

These Player Owned Bouncers (POB) resemble the Jewel Munzees, which they also bounce to! The Rubiin is available NOW in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Be sure to shop fast, because these Funfinity Stones will leave the store at 15:00 MHQ on Friday, July 31! Like the other Funfinity Stones, players can purchase a Rubiin for $10. No upgrade ability is available. Topaas and Oniks will also be available during this time. You can shop the whole collection HERE!

Rubiin Details

Rubiin joins the current line of Pouch Creatures as a physical munzee that will bounce to Greenie, Fire Mystery, Ruby, and Treehouse Munzees every 6 hours or when capped.

It will have the same point values as the other Funfinity Stones:

  • Deploy: 250
  • Capture: 200 Points
  • CapOn: 250 Points
  • CapOn (Host Owner): 200 points

Rubiin will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Rubiin on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Rubiin visits you. It will be attracted to Physical Magnets on all 4 of its landing pads. You can access Rubiin under the “Only Expiring Specials” and “Only Pouch Creatures” filters.

New Badge!

Deploying an Rubiin will earn you the following badge:

Rubiin Funfinity Stone- Deploy Rubiin Pouch Creature Munzee.

Additionally, any Rubiin captures will help you progress in both the Unique Funfinity Stone Capture badge line and the Pouch Creature Capture badge line. As a reminder, you can see the first of each of these badge lines below:

If you want to brush up on any Pouch Creature knowledge, be sure to check out our Help Guide!

Munzee on!

**We understand chasing after physical jewels like Rubies won’t be an option for some right now, but luckily these little critters will pop into Treehouses as well, and are attracted to magnets on all their landing pads!

July 2020 GOTM Winners + August POTM Requirements!

This month we’ve been going whole hog with our Camp Munzee Birthday Celebration! So far we’ve been seeing great progress made by all camps, though Camp FrEEZ is looking like the one to beat! We also celebrated National Hammock Day and released some new Myth Variant capture badges earlier in the month! We are now happy to announce the winners of the July Garden of the Month (GOTM), give a reminder for July Player of the Month (POTM), and announce the criteria for August POTM! The badges for July GOTM and POTM will be awarded in early August, but we couldn’t wait to share the winners we’ve chosen!

July GOTM

When choosing July GOTM, we tried to choose gardens that fit our summer camp theme! Remember that all winning GOTM organizers and all players who deployed in the winning gardens will be awarded special badges for their contribution to growing the map. This month we’re happy to award the Jeeper’s Jeep Garden, designed by gargoyle18, and Ladybug Garden, designed by Laczy76, as our winning July GOTM! The gardens will appear as follows:

Jeeper’s Jeep by gargoyle18 in Clinton, NJ

Do you own a jeep? Is it your vehicle of choice when heading to a newly-deployed munzee?

A jeep is a vehicle for adventures! Whether it be camping, going on safari, or a humble road trip, its rugged design can handle rough roads and all sorts of weather well!

Ladybug Garden by Laczy76 in Komárno, Slovakia

The bright colors are striking (and not an indicator of poison, thankfully) and they don’t have too many legs, eyes, or other features that put the “creepy” in “creepy crawlie”!

Most bugs are pretty polarizing — you either feel grossed out or are fascinated by them! However, the ladybug is one of the lucky few that is appreciated by most (if not all) due to its cute appearance.

All players who deployed in the respective winning gardens will receive the following special badges:

Rules for GOTM nominations:

  1. Garden must feature non-licensed character designs.
  2. The garden must feature a Garden Places Pin.
  3. The garden must be built using a publicly available spreadsheet which we will ask to be locked after being 100% deployed.
  4. We’re asking for ongoing nominations and we will release the winners throughout the year.

Send your nomination for GOTM to iloveyou@munzee.com! Keep in mind that we take all former nominations into consideration for upcoming months. Just be sure your garden follows the nomination rules in order to be considered eligible!

If you need help deploying in a Virtual Garden, you can check out this step-by-step tutorial that will making deploying in a garden easy no matter how long you’ve been playing. To fill in the gardens, make sure to stock up on Virtuals and Color Credits from the Freeze Tag Online Store.

July POTM

July’s POTM called for nominations for players who would make great Camp Munzee Counselors due to their years of Munzee experience and wealth of Munzee knowledge! There’s still time to send in your nominations — please fill out this Google Form for every user you’d like to nominate: https://forms.gle/8h6sUqqX2inE5h4r9 Separate nominations for each user makes it easier for us to award the badges!

Congratulations to all the nominees! You can expect to see the badge in early August. If you weren’t nominated this time, maybe this coming month’s POTM will work out better for you. Keep reading to find out!

Thank you for sharing your picks for Camp Munzee Counselors! We love honoring players who’ve supported the game, not only by playing, but by being a resource for other players as well!

August POTM Requirements

This month, we wanted to feature players on the opposite end of the spectrum — the new kids who are a welcome addition to the Munzee community!

Do you know a Rising Star? Send us your nominations for POTM based on players who’ve recently started playing Munzee and have been kicking butt! Please fill out this Google Form for every user you’d like to nominate: https://forms.gle/o1SQfMHv93w2v8WL9 Separate nominations for each user makes it easier for us to award the badges!

As in the previous months, this unique POTM badge is eligible for any player to earn regardless of previous wins. The badge will appear as follows:

We also wanted to share with you a special, one-of-a-kind badge we’ve created for CuppaZee developer sohcah! He’s done a great job with the Camp Competition Leaderboard so we felt this would be a good way to thank him!

We hope you’re excited for what August has in store!

Munzee on!

July 23, 2020

Camp Competition Week 2

It’s time for another weekly check-in! We’re halfway through, but we still wanted to give you some reminders as you continue Camp Munzee gameplay!

If you haven’t done so already, bookmark CuppaZee’s Camps Leaderboard so you can quickly check on your Camp’s progress whenever you like!

Remember that active players on ALL teams will receive prizes each week; players from the top team will just get the most of whatever it is we decide to give, and players from the second place team will get slightly less than the top team, and so on…

We’d also like to congratulate Camp KenneZEE and Camp Cap-A-Lot as well for rising up in the ranks! We noticed that the rankings kept changing, all the way up until the last minute. We’re happy to see that players from all camps are putting in the effort and keeping things interesting. We hope that fighting spirit remains until the end of the competition!

Lastly, if you’re proud to be in your camp, don’t forget to commemorate this special time with some Camp Merch! You can view the Camp Munzee Collection HERE!

Munzee on!
