NEW Earth Mystery Tree Scatters

In March we introduced new scatters for the Earth Mystery, changing from Boulders to Trees. Trees are extra-special since they also release their own scatters once they are capped. It’s scatterception! We promised to introduce more scatters from Trees, so here they are, to give you some alternatives to pumpkin spice!

Like the Peaches and Pears, Pecans and Acorns are both worth 25 points for Capture. To clarify — Peaches and Pears will remain as possible scatters for Trees, so you have a chance for any of the 4 types. This means that Apple and Cherry Blossom scatters are no longer available, but there’s a good chance you’ll see them again in the future!

We’ve also added two new badges: one based on Pecan captures and the other based on Acorn captures. We’re not going to reveal what these badges are, so you’ll need to snag some of these nutty scatters to see for yourself! You’ll still be able to earn badges for Peach and Pear captures as well, so be sure to grab as many as you can before the next round of scatters goes live.

Whether the leaves are changes into Fall or you’re defrosting into Spring, we hope the next season is a fruitful one for you!

Pick Peaches and Pears from Earth Mystery Trees!

While fall is typically the season associated with a bountiful harvest, summer has its own delicacies to look forward to! Starting at 12:00 MHQ today, there’s a chance these new scatters will appear after capturing a Tree!

We’re also excited to announce new badges for capturing Tree Scatters. Our mouths are watering at the thought of stuffing our faces with caramelized pastries, whipped cream, and these flavorful fruits!

These World Sushi Day Specials Are A Feast for the Eyes!

World Sushi Day specials are now live on the map for everyone and will remain available until July 8 at 23:59 MHQ. You can use the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters to more easily view them on the map. There are quite a few different specials, so check out a breakdown of each below!

Sushi Ingredients

There will be 658 Sushi Ingredient Specials available for capture on the map — that breaks down to 80 of each type except for Puffer Fish, of which there are only 18. These are attracted to either Physical or Virtual Magnets depending on their type. None of these specials are blastable.

Landing Pads:

  • Rice: every hour
  • Nori: every 2 hours
  • Cucumber: every 3 hours
  • Fried Egg: every 4 hours
  • Prawn: every 5 hours
  • Salmon: every 6 hours

Sushi Badges

There are two lines of badges related to Sushi Ingredient specials.

The first line is based on overall Sushi Ingredient captures. These badges will give you all of the tools you need for preparing sushi! The first badge in this line is a Rolling Mat earned by capping one Ingredient of any type!

The second line of badges is based on capping different combinations of Sushi Ingredient specials. Make sure to cap at least one of each special so you can try each type of roll!

Although you’ll be collecting Sushi Ingredients, you better leave the actual preparation to the experts!

Sushi Masters

In addition to the Sushi Ingredients there will also be three rare Sushi Master Specials bouncing around the map! There will be a total of 18 Sushi Master Specials available for capture — that breaks down to 6 of each type. More Sushi Masters may emerge if they pass inspection throughout this celebration! These are attracted to both Physical or Virtual Magnets on their respective landing pads. These are officially tPOBs on the Munzee account and are not blastable.

You’ll Be Ecstatic to Hear About These SHOCKING New Badges!

Last month, we announced quite a few updates to the Elemental munzee line, which included the NEW Electric Mystery munzee! It seems to be quite popular — if our social post last week was anything to go by — particularly due to the special effect of its scatters, the Charge munzees. To celebrate the success of this new type, we’ve created three new badge lines for Electric Mysteries! The lines are all retroactive and launch today at 10:00 MHQ time!

 

These badges are awarded for capturing and deploying Electric Mystery munzees, and also for capturing Charge munzees. There will be a total of 9 badges to collect!

As these badges are retroactive, you may have already met the requirements for some of them, and should see them on your account soon! If not, please wait a few days as our system catches up with awarding these new badges to everyone who has earned them, before contacting support.

Shocking News: a New Elemental Has Emerged + Many More Updates!

Like the Jewel Munzees, it’s been quite a while since a new Elemental has joined the mix! Joining current elements — Water, Earth, Fire, Ice, and Air — is a shocking new type!

We are happy to announce the Electric Mystery Munzee is now available for purchase and all Premium Members have been given 1 Electric Mystery Munzee for free! You can pick up the Electric Mystery Munzee from the Freeze Tag Online Store HERE.

Electric Mystery Munzee Details

The Electric Mystery joins the Air Mystery as a virtual type. Once the Electric Mystery is captured, it will scatter 3 Charge Munzees onto nearby Virtual Colors, similar to how the current Physical Elementals work. Those virtuals will then be worth double points for the next capture!

Capture Radius: 300 feet, not blastable

Deploy: 50 points

Capture/CapOn: Split of 60 points with 10 point minimum

Charge Capture/CapOn: 2x points of the virtual it lands on

To access the Electric Mystery munzee, turn on your “Virtual – Mysteries” filter. To access the Charge munzee, turn on your “All Expiring Specials” filter. For more information on the Electric Mystery, you can check out our Help Guide article.

Electric Mystery Munzees can be magnetized (more on this below!) with Virtual Magnets. From our current Bouncing Munzee roster, the following can be attracted to Electric Mysteries:

  • Magnetus
  • Chimera
  • Hadavale
  • Pimedus
  • Pegasus (from time to time when others are in short supply)

Elemental Magnetization

Continuing our initiative to increase magnet utility from last month, starting from today via an OTA update you can now use Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets on Elemental Munzees!

The specific Elemental you magnetize will still only bring Bouncers that land on that type of Munzee though, so you’ll be able to have a bit more control over what you’re attracting. This should help Myth chasers encounter some of the rarer myths out there, like Chimeras and Wyverns.

You can easily magnetize Elementals within the app, but you can also magnetize on the web as well. To learn more about Magnetizing munzees visit the Munzee Help Guide. There has also been an update to Evolution Munzee Resets in the app, but we’ll have more information on that tomorrow!

NEW Earth Mystery Scatters

In a push to make Boulder scatters exclusive to Catapults, which we feel are hard-earned Clan Weapons, we decided to change things up for Earth Mysteries yet again.

This time, we headed in a growing in a different direction, which we think takes Earth Mystery scatters to the next level! In place of Boulders, Tree Munzees will now scatter to nearby Greenies after an Earth Mystery has been capped.

In turn, when a Tree Munzee is captured, up to 3 new virtuals will scatter nearby. Currently, there are 2 possible scatters — a Red Apple or a Cherry Blossom Munzee! Over time we’ll introduce different types of virtuals that scatter from Tree Munzees so stay tuned for more!

Tree Munzees are worth 50 points for Capture and 10 points for CapOn, while Red Apples and Cherry Blossoms are both worth 25 points for Capture.

Updated Scatter Artwork

Since the Charge, Tree, Red Apple, and Cherry Blossom munzees’ pins looked so snazzy, we decided to update the artwork for all the other Elemental scatters as well! We hope this helps them to stand out more on the map and makes capping them just a bit more special!

2x Mystery Days!

Lastly, to cap off all of this great news, ALL Mystery Munzees will be worth double points from now through the weekend! Starting at 13:00 MHQ on March 18 players will be able to earn double points on Mystery Captures, Deploys, and CapOns. The bonus will last until 23:59 on Sunday March 22, so be sure to stock up on the above Electric Mystery Munzees, and don’t forget we have the All the Mystery Pack to earn even more points this weekend! Bowling Ball Munzee Details

UPDATE: This blog was originally posted in November 2018. As of November 2019, the Bowling Ball Munzee has been updated,  reflected by the information below. You can find complete information about all Gaming Munzees on the Help Guide. 

As promised, we have the details for the ALL NEW Bowling Ball Munzee! This addition to the Gaming Munzees is sure to knock a few pins loose! The Bowling Ball point system is based on ten-pin bowling, and you will have a chance to earn more points based on how many “pins” you “knock down.”

BASIC GAMEPLAY:

Bowling Ball Munzee:

Are you ready to play this classic game the Munzee way? Capturing a Bowling Ball will award you 25 points to start. The Bowling Ball Munzee will then initiate a mini-game (within a game, within a game!) for more points. Capturing a Bowling Ball Munzee will lead to a new virtual munzee called “Bowling – 1st Roll” being scattered to a location within 750 ft. You will be able to see the second stage (1st Roll) only after stage one (Bowling Ball) is captured. The scattered munzees will remain active for 1 hour or until captured from within a 150ft distance. 

1st Roll Munzee:

Capturing the 1st Roll Munzee, released after Capturing the Bowling Ball, will provide different options for players. If you earn a STRIKE, you will be awarded 300 points, and the game will be done. You also have the opportunity to earn anywhere between 1-9 points (one for each pin “knocked” down), and the game will advance to a virtual “2nd Roll,” which will be scattered within 500ft.

2nd Roll Munzee:

A 2nd Roll Munzee will be made available to players who have capped a Bowling Ball and a 1st Roll and did not earn a Strike on the 1st Roll. When the 2nd Roll Munzee is captured, players will either earn a SPARE and be awarded 150 points, or they will earn between 10-80 points based on number of pins “knocked” down. Either way, this will conclude the game!

Bowling Ball Munzee

  • Deploy: 50 points
  • Capture: 25 points
  • CapOn: 20 points

1st Roll Munzee

STRIKE!

The first Bowling Ball will be a physical munzee, while the 1st Roll and 2nd Roll will both be virtual scatters. The Bowling Ball has a standard deploy radius. The scattered munzees will remain active for 1 hour or until captured from within a 150ft (45.72 m) distance. 

Additionally there are a number of different badges you can earn based on capturing the Bowling Ball Munzees, earning Strikes, and earning Spares. Check out the first of each badge line here:

Flat Matt Just Got a Little Bit Fancy! (BIG Sale!)

For too long now Flat Rob has had all the fun, galavanting around in his tuxedo, chilling on the beach, and traveling snowy terrains. It’s about time that Flat Matt got a wardrobe change of his own! But while Fancy Rob just wants to travel, Fancy Matt has a different agenda on his plate. Now introducing the Fancy Flat Matt variants, representing some of Matt’s favorite sports!

Set your timers, because the Fancy Flat Matts will be going on sale on June 20 at 15:00 MHQ time in the Freeze Tag Online Store! These Player Owned Bouncers (POBs) are variants of Flat Matt that players can own.

Like the Fancy Flat Robs, the new Fancy Flat Matts will bounce around every 12 hours or when captured. Fancy Flat Matts will bounce to Flat Matts, Red Colored Virtuals* (specified below), and an additional other type based on the variant!

Bounces to:  

  • Flat Matt Munzees
  • Sports Stadium Places Munzees
  • Virtual Bittersweet Munzees
  • Virtual Red Orange Munzees
  • Virtual Scarlet Munzees
  • Virtual Red Munzees
  • Virtual Brick Red Munzees
  • Virtual Mahogany Munzees

All Fancy Flat Matts will have the same point values, though there will be a random distribution of Cap and CapOn points.

Points: 

  • Deploy: 500 points
  • Capture: 200-300 points (random)
  • CapOn: 50-100 points (random)

The Fancy Flat Matts WILL be attracted to Virtual Magnets if they are used on one of the Red Color Virtuals. They will also be equipped with the ability to be nudged. You can capture Fancy Flat Matts on your own munzees or previously captured munzees, but they will NOT be blastable. Now let’s get to know a little bit more about each variant!

Matt’er Up Flat Matt

Flat Matt is ready to knock it out of the park! This variant of Fancy Flat Matt bounces to Flat Matts, Diamond Munzees, Sports Stadium Places Munzees, and select Red Colored Virtuals.

Face-Off Flat Matt

Flat Matt is ready to take the ice! This variant of Fancy Flat Matt bounces to Flat Matts, Ice Mystery Munzees, Sports Stadium Places Munzees, and select Red Colored Virtuals.

Footy Flat Matt

Flat Matt is ready to score on a set piece! This variant of Fancy Flat Matt bounces to Flat Matts, Earth Mystery Munzees, Sports Stadium Places Munzees, and select Red Colored Virtuals.

Store Sale!

The store sale will begin tomorrow (June 20) at 15:00 MHQ time for 24 hours only. When a player goes to the online store, they will be able to choose between the three Fancy Flat Matt options:

  • Matt’er Up Flat Matt
  • Face-Off Flat Matt
  • Footy Flat Matt

Choose wisely, because each player will only be able to buy one of the three options! To repeat, each player will one be able to buy one variant style of Fancy Flat Matt, with purchases limited to one per player no matter which variant you choose. Each Flat Matt variant will cost $20, on sale for the full 24 hours so there is no rush to be online at the exact time. You will only be able to purchase the Fancy Flat Friends for 24 hours.

We say “Fancy Flat Friends,” because the Fancy Flat Matt Variants will be joined by the original Fancy Flat Friend, the Fancy Flat Rob variants! That’s right, you’ll also have 24 hours to shop Beach Flat Rob, Cold Flat Rob, or Tux Flat Rob!

The Fancy Flat Rob variants are available for purchase for players who do not already own a Fancy Flat Rob variant. Like the Fancy Flat Matt variants, each player is only allowed to purchase one Flat Friends variant per friend. That means you are free to purchase one Fancy Flat Matt and one Fancy Flat Rob of your choosing!

Badges

The Fancy Flat Matt variants will NOT count towards the other Flat Matt Capture or Deploy badges. Instead, Fancy Flat Matts will have their own Deploy badge that can be earned by deploying any Fancy Flat Matt variant. The badge will appear as follows:

Only a limited number of Mitmegu will be available for public sale. Each Mitmegu will cost $15, but you can upgrade it with a Bouncer Upgrade credit for an extra $5. The Bouncer Upgrade credit will equip your Mitmegu with the ability to be “nudged” to a new Munzee. This nudge feature can be used up to three times a day (MHQ 24 hour day) after it has sat for a minimum of three hours so that other players have the opportunity to find it.

Introducing Mitmegu Pouch Creature!

Joining the ranks of Tuli, Vesi, Muru, and Hadavale, we’re happy to announce the release of our latest Pouch Creature, Mitmegu!

Also known as the ever-changing Pouch Creature, there will be a limited number of Mitmegu Pouch Creatures on sale in the Freeze Tag Online Store starting at 10:00 MHQ on Wednesday, February 6. Be sure to shop fast, because Mitmegu will not be in the store for long! Mitmegu will cost $15, but it can also be upgraded using a Bouncer Upgrade credit (formerly the Myth Upgrade) which costs an additional $5.

When the Bouncer Upgrade credit is used, your Mitmegu will then have the ability to be “nudged” to a new Munzee. You can use the nudge feature up to three times a day (MHQ 24 hour day), but only after it has sat for at least 3 hours. This gives players the opportunity to find it before you send it on its way!

The Bouncer Upgrade will also allow you to rename your Mitmegu! The name will still retain the unique number, but feel free to get creative and customize your Pouch Creature’s moniker. Please keep in mind our player code of conduct, and be mindful of maintaining a family friendly environment!

While Mitmegu will be the fourth player-owned Pouch Creature, it will work a bit differently than Tuli, Vesi and Muru. Mitmegu will change forms depending on what it lands on and capture streaks will not impact the changing critter’s evolution.

There is a rare opportunity that the Mitmegu will land on an Elemental Mystery and change forms!

  • If Mitmegu lands on an Earth Mystery Munzee it turns into Rohimegu
  • If Mitmegu lands on a Fire Mystery Munzee it turns into Lokemegu

Mitmegu will retain its number when it changes, and if you upgrade and change its name it will keep that name on all forms. Players can cap Mitmegu on their own munzees as well.

Don’t forget to pick up a magnet at the Freeze Tag Online Store and magnetize a greenie of your choosing to attract up to 3 Specials, Myths, or Pouch Creatures for up to an hour!
