The Zeecret Agents Competition is Back!

Agents, we’ve clearly underestimated the strength of the P.I.N.E. Agency. In the hopes of keeping the competition fun for both agencies until our planned end date, we needed a bit more time to make the next set of changes, and brainstorm further additions that you may see in future rounds! For the next round, we’ve made some adjustments to the point values and types that can affect agency HP. You can find a breakdown below:

In addition, the starting HP for both teams has been raised to 2,500, while the max HP limit has been raised to 10,000.

There are also TWO very special Zeecret agents worth bonus points in the competition. One PINE agent will deal 100 points of damage to the opposite team, and one PEAR agent will regenerate 200 points of health upon capture!

Zeecret Agents Competition Update

Time For Some Good GREEN Fun With A New Competition!

Agents, here is some more intel on that special assignment we announced on Wednesday — if you were on the fence about joining then, perhaps this brief will help you decide.

Zeecret Agents Competition

It’s time to show that you’re ready to become a ZeeOps Agent through a little friendly competition from now until Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 23:59 MHQ. Similar to our Competing Camp Specials we’re splitting you up to compete as worldwide teams! This time though, there are only two teams — the P.E.A.R Agency vs the P.I.N.E. Agency– and things will work a little differently.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to work with other agents to whittle down the enemy agency’s hit points and maintain or increase your own agency’s hit points for each round. If you accept this mission, head over to the opt-in link on CuppaZee HERE to find out which agency you’ve been assigned to.

Round Rules

For the first round each agency begins with 1,000 hit points. Each team can max out to 2,500 hit points in round one as well. Maxing out hit points does not mean your team wins that round. A round will end as soon as one team’s health reaches 0 HP or after 5 days. If 5 days pass, the team with the highest remaining health will be given the win. Rounds are then reset, giving both agencies full hit points again.

A new round will begin each time an agency is KO’d until the competition ends. Please note that not all rounds may begin with the same base points. Some rounds may have higher hit point counts. After the competition ending time, the final round will continue until it ends, as normal. If the final round ends and both teams have won the same amount of rounds, there will be a final rapid decider round, with a low starting HP.

Here is a breakdown of which actions will increase your agency’s hit points, and which will decrease the enemy agency’s hit points. You might notice a few new types on this list too! You can learn more about Pear Bombs and Pineamite below, but stay tuned for the Spyderbot and Laser Pen reveals soon!

Bomb MOBs

Agents from both P.E.A.R. and P.I.N.E. have left surprises around the world and it’s up to you to defuse them! There will be 500 Pear Bomb and Pineamite MOBs on the map for the entirety of the competition. That breaks down to 125 of each type in physical form, and likewise in virtual form. These are attracted to Magnets. Ironically, none of these specials are blastable.

As noted above, for the competition leaderboard each Pear Bomb and Pineamite capture will subtract 1 point from your enemy team. Please note that this is different than the actual capture points a player will earn. This secondary point structure is just for tallying the competition leaderboard for those who are playing.

Zeecret Agents tPOBs

In addition to the Pear Bomb and Pineamite there will also be rare P.E.A.R. Agent and P.I.N.E. Agent Specials bouncing around the map! They are already out there lurking around on the map and more Agents may be unleashed as Agency Heads see fit! These are attracted to both Physical or Virtual Magnets on their respective landing pads. These are officially tPOBs on a Munzee account and are not blastable.

As noted above, since these are more rare each Agent capture will add 3 points to your own team on the competition leaderboard. Again, please note that this is different than the actual capture points a player will earn. This secondary point structure is just for tallying the competition leaderboard.

Badges

There are a number of badges related to the Zeecret Agents Competition specials:

  • Team Badge- Think of it as a Membership Badge! These badges feature your agency’s crest so wear it with pride!
  • Earn the Explosives Expert badge by capping at least one of each Bomb and Agent special.
  • There are three badges based on overall Bomb and Agent special captures. Cap as many as you can to earn these badges!
  • There will also be badges based on the outcome of the competition. We’ll keep those a secret for now 😉

National Waffle Day Specials Will Have You Bolting for Breakfast!

For those of us lucky enough to be working from home, one benefit is having more time in the morning to scrounge up a good breakfast! Here at MHQ that usually means anything with bacon and eggs, but we also need carbs to balance out that protein! What does a good breakfast look like to you?

To celebrate National Waffle Day, Wandering Waffle specials are now live on the map for everyone and will remain available until September 14 at 23:59 MHQ. Camp Counselor Specials Are Making a Special Visit to a Munzee Near You!

While waiting to receive your nominations for Camp Counselors for July’s POTM, we needed somebody to hold down the fort at Camp Munzee in the meantime. Who better than our own AlternaMyths, who boast not only a keen understanding of the game (being part of it themselves) and a great rapport with MHQ staff, but also a deep connection with the great outdoors!

Free from their counseling duties at Camp Munzee, Camp Counselor specials are now live on the map for everyone and will remain available until September 9 at 23:59 MHQ. You can use the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters to more easily view them on the map. Meet each of the counselors below!

Camp Counselors

There will be a total of 396 Camp Counselor Specials available for capture — that breaks down to 99 of each type. More Camp Counselors may emerge as the need arises for campers all over the world! These are attracted to both Physical or Virtual Magnets on their respective landing pads. These are officially tPOBs on the Munzee account and are not blastable.

While the Camp Counselors are certainly a part of Camp Munzee, capturing them will NOT earn your Camp points in our ongoing Camp Competition. We’re sticking to the water balloons and flags as outlined in our original post!

Combat Cabin Fever by Capturing Competing Camp Specials!

Whether or not you’re able to attend a Camp Munzee event near you, we want everyone to join in on the fun for our 9th Birthday! Get ready for some friendly competition as we pit our players against each other in Water Wars and Capture Zee Flag with Competing Camp specials!

Camp Competition

We’ve divided up active players randomly into 4 “Camps” to compete for prizes by capturing Competing Camp specials!

Will you wander into the wilderness with Camp Cap-A-Lot?

Perhaps you’re building pillow forts at home with Camp QRantine!

If it’s a bit chillier on your side of the world maybe you’re with Camp FrEEZ!

Or maybe you’re ready for interstellar exploration with Camp KenneZEE?

It’s up to you to lead your camp towards victory! This competition will be based on your camp’s overall Water Balloon and Flag bouncer captures. You can find out more about these specials below.

There will be prizes at stake each week, with the largest prizes awarded at the final check-in. Active players in all camps will receive a prize each week, but, as you may expect, the best prize will go to players in the 1st Place camp.

We don’t want to spoil all the prizes just yet, but we’re excited to announce that the winning camp overall will get, among other prizes, double points on certain Myth captures for a whole month!

The weekly winnings check-in schedule is as follows:

  • Thursday, July 16th at 12:00 MHQ
  • Thursday, July 23rd at 12:00 MHQ
  • Thursday, July 30th at 12:00 MHQ
  • Tuesday, August 11th at 12:00 MHQ — Final Award ceremony!

We’ll post on social media about the results each week, but to aid you in tracking your team’s progress we’ve partnered with CuppaZee to develop a leaderboard special for this event! You can check it out HERE!

Water Wars and Capture Zee Flag

Competing Camp specials are broken down into two different types of bouncers: Water Balloons and Camp Flags. Both types of specials are now live on the map for everyone and will remain available until August 9 at 23:59 MHQ. You can use the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters to more easily view them on the map. There are quite a few different specials, so check out a breakdown of each below!

Water Balloons

There will be 1,596 Water Balloon Specials available for capture on the map — that breaks down to 399 of each type. These are attracted to Virtual Magnets. None of these specials are blastable.

For the Camp Competition leaderboard each Water Balloon capture will count as 1 point. Please note that this is different than the actual capture points a player will earn. This secondary point structure is just for tallying the Camp leaderboard.

  • All Virtual Colors

Bounce Time:

  • every 4 hours

Points:

  • Capture: 99
  • CapOn: 19

Camp Flags

In addition to the Water Balloons there will also be four rare Camp Flag Specials bouncing around the map! There will be a total of 36 Camp Flag Specials available for capture — that breaks down to 9 of each type. More Camp Flags may be crafted as Camp Directors see fit! These are attracted to both Physical or Virtual Magnets on their respective landing pads. These are officially tPOBs on the Munzee Camp account and are not blastable.

Since these are more rare each Camp Flag capture will count as 5 points on the Camp Competition leaderboard. As stated above please note that this is different than the actual capture points a player will earn. This secondary point structure is just for tallying the Camp leaderboard.

The third line of badges is based on capping unique Camp Flags. There will be one badge featuring the hidden home base for each camp. Make sure to cap at least one of each flag so you can be the king or queen of all four camps! You can sneak a peek at Camp Cap-A-Lot’s home base badge below:

Celebrate the Heroes of Today With These Soaring Specials!

With both National Teacher’s Day AND National Nurse’s Day falling on the first week of May (not to mention Mother’s Day the week after!) we thought it would be a great idea to have our next specials honor essential workers! Their work makes it possible for many of us to function while staying safe at home, putting themselves at risk. Since “essential worker” sounds a bit bland, we decided to call them Hometown Heroes instead!

The first of our Hometown Heroes specials have just launched, at 12:00 MHQ time on May 18. The first icon is the one on the far left, Stay Safe. The quantities of masks will increase at random times, once launched, until they leave the map at 23:59 MHQ time on June 7! The hero masks will bounce every 6 hours or when capped. The heroes themselves will bounce around every 4 hours or when capped. The Stay Safe icon will bounce every 2 hours or when capped.

Each of the 5 mask icons correspond to a different hero! Will you be able to collect them all?

Points

  • Capture: 200 points for each mask, 150 points for the Stay Safe icon, 100 points for each hero.
  • CapOn: 50 points for ALL Hometown Hero bouncers

The heroes will bounce to all virtual colors. The mask icons will bounce to amethyst, sapphire, air mystery, citrine, onyx, electric mystery, and Skyland. The Stay Safe icon will only bounce to the white virtual.
ALL Hometown Hero specials will be attracted to Virtual Magnets, available from the Freeze Tag Online Store.
You can access the Hometown Hero specials under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Specials” filters.
These virtual specials are not blastable.

Badges

There is also a line featuring 5 new badges to earn by capturing some of the different types of specials. They are not all available at the time of launch but will be added throughout the first week. We’re revealing one of these badges below:

The Super Stamper!- Capture at least one Delivery Mask special.

Can you collect all 5 badges? Cap as many of these specials as you can to set yourself up for success!

World Laughter Day Specials — Because We All Need a Good Laugh Right Now!

We’re pretty sure most people have a bad case of cabin fever, so what better way to take your mind off of it than with some humor? World Laughter Day specials are out NOW, featuring jokes that have passed our staff’s (somewhat low) standards! (Note: Freeze Tag is not liable for any head injuries sustained after reading a corny World Laughter Day joke 😉.)

Our World Laughter Day specials will launch at 10:00 MHQ time on May 1, with 503 hitting the map until 23:59 MHQ time on May 17! Though there will only be one icon shown on the map, there are a possibility of 10 different icons that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Greeting Cards work. Also similar to our Magic 8 Ball special last year! They will bounce around every 303 minutes or when capped.

Each of the 10 icons will correspond to a different joke! Will you be able to collect them all?

Points

  • Capture: 53 points
  • CapOn: 35 points

These Virtual Munzees will not be blastable. They will bounce to all virtual colors and be attracted to Virtual Magnets, available from the Freeze Tag Online Store. You can access the World Laughter Day specials under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Specials” filters.

There is also a line featuring 5 new badges to earn based off captures of World Laughter Day specials. The first badge in the series appears as follows:

Team USA Earns Gold for Coupe du Munzee Victory!

The Coupe du Munzee specials might have left the map on July 7 following the conclusion of the Women’s World Cup, but we told you that wouldn’t be the end of these specials! Please welcome the Coupe Champion Nomad to the map at 15:00 MHQ time to honor our champion, Team USA!

 

This golden icon will operate similarly to our Nomad Munzees, which are rare bouncers that travel all over the map. Unlike our Coupe du Munzee specials, it will be a permanent munzee, meaning this physical bouncing game piece is here to stay! There will be 11 of the Coupe Champion Nomads on the map, and they will bounce to Greenies every 12 hours or when capped. The number of Nomads signifies the 11 players on the field during a game of football/soccer.

Coupe Champion Nomads work a bit differently though. When you cap any of the 11 Coupe Champion Nomads you have a chance of earn one of 23 different icons featuring the jersey number of a member of the victorious Team USA! Similar to the Magic 8 Ball Specials, you don’t know which number you’ll get so cap these rare superstars any chance you can!

Points:

  • Capture: 500
  • CapOn: 250

These munzees can be captured on previously capped and owned munzees. They will be attracted to physical Munzee Magnets. You can access the Coupe Champion Nomads by turning on your All Expiring Specials and All Limited Edition Specials filters.

Badge

There will be a special badge to earn upon capturing at least one Coupe Champion Nomad. These new bouncers will also count toward the other Nomad badge lines as well.

Coupe Du Munzee Champions!

We would also like to take a moment to acknowledge all of the teams that participated in the Coupe, especially the Netherlands team that put up such a great fight in the championship game. As a worldwide game ourselves we value the merits of international competition, and we had a ton of fun watching all of the games alongside our own international players. Now get out there and cap the Coupe Champion Nomad to celebrate the victory of Team USA! Even if you weren’t rooting for them, you have to admire the athletic achievement of the fierce women of Team USA!
