Around ZEE World Bash Details!

As we hinted at earlier in the month, we’ve planned something very special for those who’ve hosted Monthly Events all the way from January through August! Continuing our theme of Player AppreZEEation, September will celebrate Event Hosts, who have gone to great effort to grow the game in their local communities.

It’s been a few years since we’ve hosted a bash of our own, so we’re helping our hosts celebrate events Around ZEE World! Stay tuned for fun announcements all month long as we travel by air, land, sea (or virtually) to celebrate our Hosts!

Our “Thank You” to Event Hosts

Planning and preparing for a single event is already a lot of work, even if you don’t expect many to attend. So we take our hats off to those who committed to hosting an event for 8 straight months so far!

This month, we’ve decided to show our AppreZEEation to Event Hosts who’ve hosted Monthly Events from January through August with the following freebies valued in excess of $100:

The deploy circle for Event Host Lounge will be 500 feet (152.4 m) from the nearest Temporary Bouncer Destination. Capture radius is 1000 feet.

To access the Event Host Lounge, turn on your Virtual filter and find it under “Destinations”. If the Event Host Lounge is hosting munzees, it can also be visible with the “All Expiring Specials” filter.

Munzee Calendar Update

To help highlight the Special Monthly Events with the Bonus Add-On mentioned above on the Munzee Calendar, we’ve added a pulsing effect.

As before, Monthly Events will have the pink outline around them — so Special Monthly Events will have the pink outline with the pulsing effect. Regular Monthly Events will have the pink outline without the pulsing effect.

Player AppreZEEation Award Ceremony

For Player ApprZEEation month, we wanted to put more players in the spotlight! This time we tried something different and posted our Facebook Live Event yesterday to give you a heads-up — but we know not all of you may have checked Facebook yesterday, or may not even use Facebook.

As mentioned in the description of that event, this Facebook Live will be an Award Ceremony similar to the ones we had last year, only this time in addition to recognizing some outstanding solo players, we’ll also be recognizing special groups of players as well!

Some slightly more detailed info in list form:

We are shooting for a start time of 15:00 MHQ today, August 18. In the case of any technical difficulties, we will let you know of any new start times as soon as we can.
You will be able to view the LIVE video on our Facebook Page HERE!
As usual, Facebook should automatically post the completed recording on the page once the live video is over, so if you’re not able to watch it live, you can still have your own Award Ceremony experience afterwards! We’ll post the link to the recording and embed it here as well.

General Info

As Rob mentioned in the video, due to the ongoing app issues, today will be a Blackout Day — this means this day will not affect your streaks.

Non-trial Premium Members will also receive a Golden Carrot Munzee, and possibly more as Rob hinted!

Extended Streak Badge Line!

Many of our longtime players have kept up their Capture, Deploy, or ULTRA (both cap and deploy) Streaks up in the hopes that we might someday extend those lines… well, today (or whenever the app is back up and running again) is the day!

The 3 badge lines have been extended out to the full 11 years that the app has existed so far!

While no one will earn these badges immediately, we do have some players that are close!

The current longest capture streak is maintained by CrazyLadyLisa at 3,425 days as of end of day on the 16th, which is 9.4 years!

As for deploys, the current longest streak is maintained by taska1981 at 3,177 days as of end of day on the 16th, which is 8.7 years!

Unfortunately, we were unable to query the current longest ULTRA streak in time, and due to our focus being on fixing the current app issues, the identity of the player who’s achieved this will be a secret for now… but once these badges are awarded, let’s keep a lookout for who’s got the highest one!

We hope to have the issues fixed some time today or at least before the weekend — so, to give us enough time to award the badges after that, please wait until Tuesday, August 23 to contact support@munzee.com if you have not received the badges you qualify for.

Road Warriors Road Trip!

After a sneak peek in Florida this weekend, you may have noticed some new Flat Vans driving around! As you’ve probably guessed, these are Dale and Barb’s new Flat Object Munzees, and we’ve got the details for them below!

In addition, we’ve got some exciting news for Dale and Barb fans — they’ll be making a huge Road Trip around the states, covering territory they don’t usually get to visit! As this is such a special occasion, we’ve created new permanent physical munzees for them to deploy along the way and commemorate their trip — read on to learn more!

As Dale and Barb make their way around the U.S.A. in their not-flat van, they’ll be deploying physicals along their Road Trip route. However, they won’t be deploying on their personal accounts (SpaceCoastGeoStore and DalenBarb) — instead, they’ll be using the Roadwarriors Munzee account, which has the ability to convert greenies to the colorful icon pictured below! If you’ve been Munzee-ing for a while, you’ll find that they are similar to the InternationElles, Whomp Canada, and Wayward Nation munzees.

A Wonder11and Universal for our UnBirthday!

There is no occasion more special than our UnBirthday (of which there are 364), so to commemorate this special time, we’re releasing a NEW Universal for you to collect! Get your all new Wonder11and Universal HERE!

Similar to our thoughts with the past Universals, if you’ll be attending a UnBirthday Event but don’t feel safe touching and scanning others’ Personal Tags, ask other attendees to share their Universal code (if they have one) online so you can scan it from your home. Of course, the same goes if you are not attending any events but want to join in on the fun virtually — play your way!

Universally United

Featuring bits and bobs from Wonder11and, it has the best of both Social and Personal Munzee functionality as other players can capture it from anywhere in the world AND activity on it will earn you points. However, as this makes it incredibly valuable, we are limiting it to 1 per player. You can find this limited edition Universal HERE!

This Wonder11and Universal is a limited release item only available through August 1 at 12:00 MHQ.

A Universal has the same point structure as a regular Personal:

Capture: mystery random points 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45
CapOn: sum of 50 between player capture and residual
- Example: player capture = 30, owner residual = 20. Total = 50
Deploy: 100 points (only deploy it once with no proximity or expiration!)
**Boosters will have no effect on Universal points.

You can find your Universal in the My Social Munzees section of the app, or the corresponding page on the website.

Like the 10th Birthday Universals, these will be auto-deployed upon purchase!

Snag a Spot in our NEW Pop-Up Gardens!

We’ve created “gardens” in 7 new locations that are old-school hot spots! At each of the locations listed below, there will be 2 gardens. One garden will be composed entirely of Virtual Colors, while the other will be composed entirely of Flats, excluding the Flat RUM (as they are exclusive products that you can only get from our Authorized Resellers). Each garden will contain around 50 pins in a simple rectangle shape, just like the Emerald Gardens for last year’s Christmas Event Packages.

Starting NOW! No specific end date — until all the gardens are filled!

Why?

We chose the locations above with newer players in mind: being old-school hot spots, that means they’ve been covered with munzees since the early days of the app.

As these garden pins are deployed via a special process, their deploys will award 100 points, regardless of the type deployed. Capture and CapOn points will award the usual points specific to the type.

Need MORE Pets? Mari’s Flat Object is Actually 2-in-1!

You didn’t really think we’d celebrate National Pet Day with just Pet Rocks, did you? If so — consider it a late April Fool’s prank! With so many loveable pets out there, we knew we had to include a crowd-pleasing, cute, and cuddly animal in the festivities. We got more than we bargained for, as you’ll see — one became two!

The seventh Flat Object is brought to you by Mari, our productive Product Manager! She is the one who keeps MHQ running like a well-oiled machine! Thanks to her diligence in planning things well in advance, we’ve managed to meet a lot of our goals on schedule, rather than 1,000 hours each time! If you’ve attended any of the Munzee Events we’ve hosted in the past, you may have met Mari, but for those who haven’t been fortunate enough to get to know her, or would like a refresher, you can check out her most recent Meet Munzee Munzday post HERE!

Mari’s Flat Object is similar to Wylie’s in that it may be more accurately described as Flat Pets — but as it follows the same structure as other Flat Objects, we’ll still call it one for consistency. Say hello to the Flat Cats, based on her cats Benji and Burr! Benji is the orange one and Burr is the black one – they are brothers and the bestest friends in the whole world! ? They are the stars of many a Zoom call (and possibly the only things keeping Mari from going insane while stuck at home — call it the opposite of the crazy cat lady effect)! Read on to learn more!

Stake Your Claim on the Map With This NEW Flat Object!

It’s been a little over 2 weeks since Munzee Madness 11, and though it was still a multi-stage event, it feels like it ended so quickly. We really missed attending events in-person and seeing players we’ve known for years, along with some new faces! As its first event was in 2012, Munzee Madness is the longest-running annual event hosted by players. It was originated by one of our Resellers, 1849, who owns Gold’n Coins! This quick history lesson is just one example of Resellers helping to maintain and grow the Munzee community — so in honor of ALL our Resellers, we’ve created a NEW game piece just for them!

The sixth Flat Object is a little different from the previous objects, as it was not designed by one specific team member — instead, we’ve developed it to represent our Resellers! As Munzee is a global game, we appreciate that our Resellers make it easier for local players to get their hands on Munzee stickers and other physical items. On top of that, as mentioned above, they are often a huge part of maintaining and growing the local Munzee community.

This Flat (and the badges associated with them) will be continuing the pirate theme we’ve established for our Resellers. Read on to learn more!

Similar to last week’s MunzPak ZEE-Dayz, expect a ZEE-Dayz event for non-trial Premium Members kicking off Thursday at 00:01 MHQ! Flat Munzees will see double their normal point values!
