March Resolution Badge Details!

How comfortable are you with getting outside of your comfort zone? What skills have you been meaning to sharpen? Our monthly Capture Streak Badges are centered on a year of self-improvement, and March is no different. While January focused on eating healthy and February involved making new friends, March will be the month of picking up new hobbies!

Underwater sweater knitting, anyone?

Each month’s badge will be dedicated to accomplishing a different New Year’s Resolution. Similar to how our Super Streak badges operate, you will be awarded a badge if you capture at least one munzee* each day for the entire month. Even if you missed out on the last two months, it’s never too late to get in on the healthy and happy living! The extra Munzee badge is just an added bonus.

The Importance of Hobbies

What’s your favorite hobby? (I mean aside from Munzee, of course.) While many of us feel consumed by our day to day lives, you don’t have to wait until retirement to explore your hobbies. And if you are already retired, you’re in luck! It’s time to start exploring what you enjoy. Carving a part out of each day to devote to activities that nourish you physically, mentally, and spiritually is tantamount to achieving overall health and well-being.

Maybe you fell out of touch with a cherished childhood activity or you’ve been meaning to explore a new activity for years. Whatever the case, having a hobby is proven to be beneficial for your mind and body. Hobbies are an excellent stress reliever, which has benefits for both your mental happiness and your overall physical health. It’s crucial to remember to take a break and unwind with an enjoyable activity in order to give yourself some important relaxation time.

At the same time, hobbies allow the opportunity for new experiences and challenges. Shake up the normal routine of your daily life and allow your brain to focus on something new. The mental stimulation will be rewarding, while allowing the chance to explore and discover new talents. Who knows what hidden hobby you will discover in yourself! It might even prove to be financially lucrative, while learning new skills can advance your career.

Don’t allow your free time to be wasted! Enrich your spirit by picking up a new hobby this month. Oh and don’t forget to cap something every day this month too!

Fear Not, February 2019 MunzPaks Have Arrived!

January has come and gone, and we’re already in the second month of 2019! That means it’s time for the release of our latest MunzPaks.

With the recent launch of 4.0 we’re anticipating some new players, so for those of you who don’t know, MunzPak is our monthly subscription service that delivers munzees directly to your door. February Resolution Badge Details!

How has 2019 been treating you so far? As we announced last month in our January Resolutions blog, we will be launching monthly Capture Streak Badges centered on a year of self-improvement. Each month’s badge will be dedicated to accomplishing a different New Year’s Resolution. Similar to how our Super Streak badges operate, you will be awarded a badge if you capture at least one munzee* each day for the entire month. And since this month is the shortest, you have no excuse not to try!

Each month’s badge will be themed around the particular resolution goal. While our January resolution focused on eating healthy, we decided to do something special for the month of love. Love comes in more than just romantic forms, so we made our February resolution to make new friends.

Why meet new people?

Though socializing comes natural to some lucky humans, many struggle to build new friendships. While it’s tempting to retreat into yourself, there are actually proven health benefits that friendship can provide.

In fact, having friends may even extend your lifespan. People who forge strong social relationships are less likely to die prematurely compared to their isolated counterparts. Friends help each other get healthier, as well as improve mental sharpness. And, of course, we need friends to lean on in tough times, bounce ideas off, challenge our beliefs, and widen our perspectives. Overall, having a trusted network of friends makes us healthier, more balanced, and more centered beings.

One of our favorite parts about Munzee is all the new people we meet along the way. Whether we’re traveling across states or nations, or simply checking our social media and e-mails, we love hearing about and seeing how Munzee has brought people together. It’s not always easy to branch out, but sharing a common interest really helps with meeting new people. And while nothing can replace physical friends, it’s pretty awesome to have virtual ones as well!

So go out, make some friends, and maybe even introduce them to Munzee! Good luck and Munzee on!

Flat Robs in June & July

We thought it would be nice to update everyone on a few upcoming times Rob will be out of the office, and therefore Flat Rob will be coming out to play! The July dates will give everyone a chance to plan ahead. We hope everyone enjoys seeing Flat Rob on the map. Munzee Newsletter: May 2017 Wrap-Up

In May Munzee was busy moving into our new offices, but that’s not to say we didn’t keep our players busy too. Take a look back on some of the things that happened last month and what to expect this month as well!

We’ve spent the last couple months getting the ALL NEW Munzee Headquarters up and running! We have upgraded our offices to a much larger space which is ideal for our constantly growing staff. The new building is located just a few miles from our previous headquarters too, so we still get to call McKinney, TX home.

Some of our players helped us break in the new location with our MH-New Open House event and they even got to see us monkeying around first hand!

Flat Matt Has Hit The Map!

In November 2015 Flat Rob was released and he’s been traveling the world ever since. All that travel can be a bit lonely though, so we’re excited to release a similarly two-dimensional friend- Flat Matt!

Although Flat Rob comes out to play when Rob is traveling, Flat Matts will be live on the map during days with specific sporting events.

Hail Hydra

The Hydra is the latest Mythological Munzee, and the second in our Classical Myth line. Not much is known about this many-headed beast, although it is said to guard the fabled Fountain Of Youth.

The new Timeshare Munzee is the latest in our Destination line of munzees alongside the Motel, Hotel and Virtual Resort. This physical credit item features 5 Rooms so the first 5 players to cap the Timeshare get a room deployed. Here’s the kicker though, Rooms only stay deployed for 30 days!

To celebrate World Turtle Day on May 23rd, Munzee released turtle specials from May 19th through the 28th. These shell-shocking specials were a big hit and helped raise awareness about our slow-crawling friends.

Munzee Newsletter: March 2017

In March we celebrated our favorite color- GREEN. We also gave back to some wild friends with the help of our players, announced some birthday plans, crashed at a couple hotels and updated the app.

Take a look back on some of the things that happened this month and what to expect next month as well!

We kicked off the month with Safar-Zee, a fundraising effort focused on helping wildlife worldwide. For the month of March we sold Paw Print special virtual icons with proceeds going to help wildlife rescue organizations. As always our players showed their enthusiasm from the start and have already helped In-Sync Exotics and our newly adopted tiger Mystery.

The special Paw Prints will be on the map through 23:59 MHQ Time on April 30, 2017. The virtual garden above In-Sync is permanent.

Greet Garfield in Munzee, IN!

This month we announced some of Munzee’s 6th Birthday celebration plans to take over Muncie, Indiana and turn it into Munzee, Indiana! Join Rob the weekend of July 21st for a number of fun events including a trip to the Delaware County Fair! Rob will also be visited by a certain fat cat who is pretty popular around those parts.

Munzee Gone GREEN

We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day weekend in full force with a triple point weekend on some of our favorite green munzees, expediated Leprechauns and a limited time Leprechaun badge line!

Needless to say, our players made the most of the weekend and Saturdaywas in the Top 10 Overall days of both captures and deploys.

At Your Service

While February kept players busy capturing the treacherous Jewel Thief on precious stones, in March a new stealthy fella began roaming the halls of Hotels and Motels worldwide.

He claims he’s just here to help you with your bags though, so be sure to leave a tip for the new Bellhop Nomad Munzee!

The up-Dating Game

This month we updated Munzee to version 3.3.2. Be sure to update your app to make the most of the following new features.

Changes to the Own Socials list to fit overall look and feel.
Added the ability to deploy Socials from the player’s Details page.
Fixed photo submission issues for Places Munzees.
Added the ability to choose between select installed navigation apps.
Added a quick way to reset and activate all filters.
Updated the scanner.
Updated translations.
Minor bug fixes and improvements.

Newsletter: February 2017

February showed us a lot of love! We released some awesome new coinz, had some great specials and announced a new operation we’ve put way more than 1,000 hours into.

At long last we are proud to announce the creation of ZeeOps- single player campaign missions to complete for rewards. These Operations work much like individual Clan Wars, but feature a range of Mission difficulty levels that require a variety of Munzee skills.

Chocoholic

This February love was in the air- love of chocolate that is. We released Chocloate Heart Boxes that released three different kinds of chocolate when capped. Capping all three earned players an empty box of chocolate badge. Whether you had a Valentine or not, MHQ wanted to make sure you got something sweet!

Furry Forest Friends

This month 1,500 Faun Mythological Munzees scurried onto the map to greenies and Earth Mystery Munzees worldwide.The first of our Classical Mythological Munzee set, these furry forest dwellers are attracted to Earth Mystery Munzees, which were also released this month.

Tea Time!

Easter will be here before we know it, so we gleefully announced that the whole of April is open for you to host and attend Munzee Tea Parties! The inspiration for these came from all round the world, so thank you for letting us know about your Easter and spring traditions.

Be sure to get your event on the Munzee Calendar ASAP because there will be an art work deadline in a couple of weeks based on demand.

Hidden In Plain Sight

We’ve added some new Urban Camo munzees to the Online Store! These new designs are perfect for hiding the game pieces in public without worrying about them getting ripped up.These four new designs are available now for $7.50 for 20 stickers.

We’ve also changed the prices on the Mini Urban Camo Munzees to $5 for 20 stickers.
