Scrap Wars: Episode II ZEE-Dayz

A certain space opera’s newest television series debuts today, so it’s the perfect excuse to bring back some beloved specials from earlier in the month. This time, however, it’s your turn to deploy your very own themed Mechz! Read on for everything you need to know!

Updated ARF2D2 + ZEE-3PO

By popular demand, ARF2D2 and ZEE-3PO are now available for players to purchase and deploy! As before, they will bounce around every 6 hours or when capped. They will also stay on the map until they have been captured 5 times, when they will be archived. After the fifth capture these specials will be “swamped” or “scrapped”, respectively, which results in more points for the capper.

You have the option of purchasing ARF2D2 in its own pack HERE, ZEE-3PO in its own pack HERE, or a pack containing both HERE. They’ll be in the store until 23:59 MHQ on May 30th.

As the point values have increased and landing pads have been added, we’ve updated the data table for these Mechz below:

ARF2D2 ZEE-3P0
Points Points
  • Deploy: 500
  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 100
  • Swamped (5th Cap): 500
  • Deploy: 500
  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 100
  • Scrapped (5th Cap): 500
Landing Pads Landing Pads

These Mechz will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture an ARF2D2 or ZEE-3P0 on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same ARF2D2 or ZEE-3P0 visits you. These munzees will not be blastable. They will be attracted to magnets, available from the Freeze Tag Online Store. You can access these Mechz under the “All Expiring Specials” filter.

As before, when an ARF2D2 is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Leash Sabers. Similarly, when a ZEE-3P0 is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Tin Toppers. We’ve updated the points for these as well in the table below:

Leash Saber Tin Topper
Points Points
  • Capture: 50
  • CapOn: 25-30
  • Capture: 50
  • CapOn: 25-30

These scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Mech owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

Badges

As with other Munzee Mechz, the badges for deploying the ARF2D2 and ZEE-3PO depict the Blueprints, and are shown below:

In addition, captures of these Mechz will allow you to earn the same badges as capturing the original May the Fourth specials, so you’re in luck if you missed out!

Special Mech Packs!

From the period of Friday, May 27th at 12:00 MHQ through Monday, May 30th at 23:59 MHQ, we’ve got some special packs in stock! Shop them all in the Mech Collection HERE! A few of them were already mentioned above, but for clarity we’ll include them again in the list below:

When you purchase a Mech, it will auto-deploy the Mech and also provide you with the Blueprints to rebuild it again with Cogs, if you don’t already own it.

Double Magnet Effectiveness Details

From the period of Friday, May 27th at 12:00 MHQ through Monday, May 30th at 23:59 MHQ (same period as the special pack availability), enjoy double magnet effectiveness (meaning, magnets will attract TWICE the number of bouncers) AND double capacity on Scrap Stars, tPOB PubsTreehouses, and Skylands!

Remember that since Premium Members now attract 4 bouncers with normal magnet usage and 7 bouncers when magnetizing a Landing Pad destination, when doubled they’ll attract 8 and 14 bouncers, respectively!

We hope this long post didn’t have you contemplating joining the dark side — thanks for reading until the end!

May the Fourth Specials + ZEE-Dayz

Today is a very special day in the Munzee world — it’s May 4th! Pre-pandemic, this date was a popular choice for events themed around a certain space opera, so the Munzee Calendar would be full of “May the Fourth” events. Creative event hosts found a way to extend this theme to the 5th and 6th days of the month by dubbing them either “Return of the Fifth” or “Return of the Sixth” events, respectively. While the current situation has unfortunately put these events on hiatus (not to mention that all of these days are during the workweek, which would make it difficult for players to meet up for an event anyway) we decided to bring the party to you! Read on for everything you need to know!

May the Fourth Specials

From the period of Wednesday, May 4th at 12:00 MHQ through Thursday, May 12th at 23:59 MHQ, May the Fourth Specials will bounce around on the map! Like the original KrampBots, these specials are Mechz, which means they are also tPOBs, but solely owned by an official Munzee account. No players are able to purchase/own/deploy a May the Fourth special. We’ll be releasing the Mechz in waves, but will end at a total of 1000 ARF2D2s and 1000 ZEE-3P0s. They will bounce around every 6 hours or when capped.

These specials will stay on the map until they have been captured 5 times, when they will be archived. After the fifth capture these specials will be “swamped” or “scrapped”, respectively, which results in more points for the capper.

  • Capture: 150
  • CapOn: 50
  • Swamped (5th Cap): 250
  • Capture: 150

Landing Pads Landing Pads

These specials will be available for multi-capture. You can access the May the Fourth specials under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Specials” filters.

When an ARF2D2 is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Leash Sabers. Similarly, when a ZEE-3P0 is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Tin Toppers.

These scatters will be visible to any player! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet.

Reseller Garden Flamingos

Of course, we couldn’t leave our Resellers out of the yard decorating fun! We managed to prepare these a little earlier in the year than the Reseller Garden Gnomes, so we’re feeling a bit accomplished. Please welcome these very special Garden Flamingos themed around each Reseller’s shop!

Reseller Garden Flamingo Details

Like the other flamingos, Reseller Garden Flamingos are temporary POBs that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Flamingos continue to use it. When you purchase a Garden Flamingo from a Reseller, you will receive the base Garden Flamingo with their respective flamingo skin already equipped. However, you can still swap out the skins just like the other Garden Flamingos — refer to our Help Guide article if you need a refresher!

Interested? They will be available at our Authorized Resellers’ shops some time today. Here are the links to shop all of our resellers:

Points

  • Deploy: 500
  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 300

You can find these international ambassadors traveling to the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Gold Miner Garden Flamingo will land on all stages of the Treasure Chest Evolution.

Also like the other flamingos, up to 3 NEW Flamingo Feathers may be scattered nearby when they are captured!

The Flamingo Feathers will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flamingo owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These flamingo feather scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Flamingo Feathers are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 50 points

Reseller Garden Flamingos of ANY type will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Reseller Garden Flamingos on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Reseller Garden Flamingo visits you. Reseller Garden Flamingos are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access Reseller Garden Flamingos by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Flamingos have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up! You’ll also receive these upon purchasing a Reseller flamingo!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more flamingos you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned flamingo!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many flamingos as you can find!

First, here are the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Aussie Explorer Garden Flamingo:

The badges for the other Reseller Garden Flamingos follow the same pattern.

We’ve also extended the “Overall deploy” and “Overall capture” badge line, but we’ll keep the new badges a secret for now. You can refer to our original blog post to get an idea of what they look like!

We hope these Reseller flamingos are as beloved as their spirited seasonal brethren!

Badges

There will be four badges to earn for National Hat Day specials. Three of them will require you to capture a certain number of these specials. The final badge requires you to capture each of the Hats that are released! You can see the first badge below.

It’s up to you to find the hats for the remaining 3 badges! Cap as many of these specials as you can to set yourself up for success!

We hope you haven’t gone mad as a hatter with all that info — thanks for reading until the end!

Some Garden Gnomes are Going Gnomewhere!

After releasing the details for the eSports Gnome skin and experimenting with Halloween skins for Myths, we decided it would be a waste if Garden Gnomes disappeared completely from the map. Not to mention all the effort we put into creating them, and all the effort you put into keeping up your streak every day to earn them!

However, we’d still like to make room for new tPOBs we’re planning for next year. That, combined with the unique pricing of Garden Gnomes made it tricky for us to determine how many should stay, and what would be fair to players who have been collecting them. Ultimately, we’ve decided that players who own at least 8 Garden Gnomes (the actual gnomes, not the skins) will have 1 permanent Garden Gnome to keep.

If you meet this requirement by 23:59 MHQ on December 31st, the permanent Garden Gnome will be auto-deployed on your account some time on January 1st, and will retain the ability to switch between earned skins at any time. You may find that the process of making it a permanent POB has changed the base gnome’s appearance, though you’ll be able to access the original Garden Gnome as a skin and switch to it as well.

One More Skin!

Due to this change, we decided to create 1 more Garden Gnome skin, which you can earn by keeping up your capture streak in December. When the permanent Garden Gnomes are auto-deployed, they will come with this new skin, along with the skins you previously earned.

This also means that next year’s Monthly tPOB will not come with an extra skin in January (à la the Ice Hockey Gnome), and just be sold as the base version of that tPOB. Then, if you keep up your capture streak in January, you will receive a skin in February as usual.

Need more Garden Gnomes?

As mentioned in our monthly Garden Gnome posts, the gnomes can be purchased from the Freeze Tag Store once every 28 days, so we hope that if you’re close to that number and are interested in having a permanent Garden Gnome, this gives you enough time to pick one up. Since we’ve been reducing the price by a dollar each month, currently a Garden Gnome only costs $2! If you need a few more, don’t forget that our Authorized Resellers also have Garden Gnomes in stock, if you haven’t bought them already (each Reseller Gnome is limited to 1 per player).

Otherwise, don’t feel too bad if you won’t have a Garden Gnome to keep — next year’s Monthly tPOB is still in the works, and promises to have an equally fun theme, which we’ll announce once we have more details solidified!

Munzee on!

P.S. What do you think next year’s Monthly tPOB will be?

The Cycling Garden Gnome will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Cycling Garden Gnomes on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Cycling Garden Gnome visits you. Cycling Garden Gnomes are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access Cycling Garden Gnomes by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Gnomes have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more gnomes you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned gnome!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many gnomes as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Cycling Garden Gnome:

We hope earning October’s Gnome Skin is like riding a bike! Don’t forget to keep your streak up through October — you’ll need to in order to earn the November Gnome Skin!

August Garden Gnome Reminder + September Preview!

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into September with your desired Garden Gnomes! The skin for completing your August capture streak (and the corresponding badge) will be awarded in early September, but we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store!

August Garden Gnome Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Garden Gnome yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $5.

Each month, the price of a Garden Gnome will decrease by $1. However, players can only purchase 1 Garden Gnome every 28 days.

If you’re planning to complete the capture streaks for each month (and made the initial purchase in January) you’ll have 12 different skins to choose from! So be sure to purchase one each month so you can have a complete bench of these athletic Garden Gnomes!

We also released special Reseller Garden Gnomes in March — if you’re interested, you can check out our blog post on them HERE!

September Garden Gnome Details

What Gnome Skin can you look forward to receiving in September? The playmaking Football Garden Gnome! Like the other gnomes, the Football Garden Gnome is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to have completed this month’s (August’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in September, you can change the skin on the gnome to this one at any point — refer to our original blog post for the instructions!

Points

  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 300

You can find these tough tacklers sprinting to the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Football Garden Gnome will scatter up to 3 NEW Gnome Touchdown Toppers nearby when it is captured!

Like the other Gnome Hats, the Gnome Touchdown Topper will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Gnome owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These hat scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Gnome Hats are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 50 points

The Football Garden Gnome will be available for multi-capture.
