Bowling Ball Munzee Details

UPDATE: This blog was originally posted in November 2018. As of November 2019, the Bowling Ball Munzee has been updated, reflected by the information below. You can find complete information about all Gaming Munzees on the Help Guide.

As promised, we have the details for the ALL NEW Bowling Ball Munzee! This addition to the Gaming Munzees is sure to knock a few pins loose! The Bowling Ball point system is based on ten-pin bowling, and you will have a chance to earn more points based on how many “pins” you “knock down.”

BASIC GAMEPLAY:

Bowling Ball Munzee:

Are you ready to play this classic game the Munzee way? Capturing a Bowling Ball will award you 25 points to start. The Bowling Ball Munzee will then initiate a mini-game (within a game, within a game!) for more points. Capturing a Bowling Ball Munzee will lead to a new virtual munzee called “Bowling – 1st Roll” being scattered to a location within 750 ft. You will be able to see the second stage (1st Roll) only after stage one (Bowling Ball) is captured. The scattered munzees will remain active for 1 hour or until captured from within a 150ft distance.

1st Roll Munzee:

Capturing the 1st Roll Munzee, released after Capturing the Bowling Ball, will provide different options for players. If you earn a STRIKE, you will be awarded 300 points, and the game will be done. You also have the opportunity to earn anywhere between 1-9 points (one for each pin “knocked” down), and the game will advance to a virtual “2nd Roll,” which will be scattered within 500ft.

2nd Roll Munzee:

A 2nd Roll Munzee will be made available to players who have capped a Bowling Ball and a 1st Roll and did not earn a Strike on the 1st Roll. When the 2nd Roll Munzee is captured, players will either earn a SPARE and be awarded 150 points, or they will earn between 10-80 points based on number of pins “knocked” down. Either way, this will conclude the game!

The first Bowling Ball will be a physical munzee, while the 1st Roll and 2nd Roll will both be virtual scatters. The Bowling Ball has a standard deploy radius. The scattered munzees will remain active for 1 hour or until captured from within a 150ft (45.72 m) distance.

July Resolutions Are Here!

While you still have a few days left in June to put your iced coffee money in your savings account for June Resolutions, we’re already looking to the future for our July Resolutions badge! From eating healthy to traveling more, our monthly Capture Streak badges have been centered around a year of personal improvement. As summer heats up on the Northern Hemisphere, this month we challenge players to lose weight (if you need to for your health)!

Each month’s unique badge is dedicated to accomplishing another New Year’s Resolution. Like our Super Streak badges, you will be awarded a badge if you capture at least one Munzee* each day for the entire month. The monthly Capture Streak badges allow for the chance to work towards a different goal each month in order to bring about a year of positive growth and change.

Losing Weight for Health

While folks on the Southern Hemisphere might be bundling up, the Northern Hemisphere is well into bathing suit season. And for many, the rise in temperature is accompanied by a heightened dissatisfaction with one’s physical appearance. Weight loss, however, shouldn’t be something that is appearance based. It might sound cheesy, but if you’re asking yourself “do I have a summer body?” the answer is “do you have a body?” If you say “yes,” then you’re all ready to hit the beach!

While it’s crucial to accept your body as is, that doesn’t mean that you can neglect your health. If your weight is impacting your health, then it’s time to lose weight the right way in order to feel better and increase your longevity. Rather than gravitate towards a fad diet or “lose weight quick” scheme, the two main components of weight loss are diet and exercise. The number one reason why diets fail is because they are unsustainable. By changing your lifestyle choices permanently, you will never again have to grapple with the disappointments of “yo-yo dieting.” Just be sure to find a healthy meal plan that works best for YOU.

While counting calories can lead to unhealthy behaviors, it is beneficial to be aware of factors such what you eat, how much you eat, when you eat, and how often you eat. Keeping a food journal, or tracking your food intake on one of the many helpful dieting apps, can help you become more aware of what you put into your body so that you can make more informed dining choices.

When it comes to staying active, the playing field is unfortunately not even. However, if you have underlying medical issues that are prohibiting weight loss, you can still set daily goals for yourself. We are so proud of how many players have achieved monumental fitness accomplishments, especially after many have shared their stories of chronic physical disabilities and illnesses that they refuse to allow to hold them back. Remember, the only person you have to compete with when it comes to fitness is yourself. Focus on personal growth rather than comparing yourself to others, and remember that health is always the goal.

Flat Matt Just Got a Little Bit Fancy! (BIG Sale!)

For too long now Flat Rob has had all the fun, galavanting around in his tuxedo, chilling on the beach, and traveling snowy terrains. It’s about time that Flat Matt got a wardrobe change of his own! But while Fancy Rob just wants to travel, Fancy Matt has a different agenda on his plate. Now introducing the Fancy Flat Matt variants, representing some of Matt’s favorite sports!

Set your timers, because the Fancy Flat Matts will be going on sale on June 20 at 15:00 MHQ time in the Freeze Tag Online Store! These Player Owned Bouncers (POBs) are variants of Flat Matt that players can own.

Like the Fancy Flat Robs, the new Fancy Flat Matts will bounce around every 12 hours or when captured. Fancy Flat Matts will bounce to Flat Matts, Red Colored Virtuals* (specified below), and an additional other type based on the variant!

The Fancy Flat Matts WILL be attracted to Virtual Magnets if they are used on one of the Red Color Virtuals. They will also be equipped with the ability to be nudged. You can capture Fancy Flat Matts on your own munzees or previously captured munzees, but they will NOT be blastable. Now let’s get to know a little bit more about each variant!

Matt’er Up Flat Matt

Flat Matt is ready to knock it out of the park! This variant of Fancy Flat Matt bounces to Flat Matts, Diamond Munzees, Sports Stadium Places Munzees, and select Red Colored Virtuals.

Face-Off Flat Matt

Flat Matt is ready to take the ice! This variant of Fancy Flat Matt bounces to Flat Matts, Ice Mystery Munzees, Sports Stadium Places Munzees, and select Red Colored Virtuals.

Footy Flat Matt

Flat Matt is ready to score on a set piece! This variant of Fancy Flat Matt bounces to Flat Matts, Earth Mystery Munzees, Sports Stadium Places Munzees, and select Red Colored Virtuals.

Store Sale!

The store sale will begin tomorrow (June 20) at 15:00 MHQ time for 24 hours only. When a player goes to the online store, they will be able to choose between the three Fancy Flat Matt options:

Choose wisely, because each player will only be able to buy one of the three options! To repeat, each player will one be able to buy one variant style of Fancy Flat Matt, with purchases limited to one per player no matter which variant you choose. Each Flat Matt variant will cost $20, on sale for the full 24 hours so there is no rush to be online at the exact time. You will only be able to purchase the Fancy Flat Friends for 24 hours.

We say “Fancy Flat Friends,” because the Fancy Flat Matt Variants will be joined by the original Fancy Flat Friend, the Fancy Flat Rob variants! That’s right, you’ll also have 24 hours to shop Beach Flat Rob, Cold Flat Rob, or Tux Flat Rob!

The Fancy Flat Rob variants are available for purchase for players who do not already own a Fancy Flat Rob variant. Like the Fancy Flat Matt variants, each player is only allowed to purchase one Flat Friends variant per friend. That means you are free to purchase one Fancy Flat Matt and one Fancy Flat Rob of your choosing!

LegaZeeOps- Operation: Pre:Evolution (June 2019)

Agents, ZeeOps HQ’s system has been hacked and all of our files on past missions have been erased! You’ll have to recreate past Operations in what we’re calling LegaZeeOps. It’s up to you to keep the legacy of this organization in tact. The missions for this month are the same that were originally available in June 2017’s Operations.

Agents, your hard work in May has paid off and the final factions of the Mean Green Gang have been dismantled. Although we’re always on the lookout for another uprising, it seems the reign of the Mean Green Gang has ended. The enemy has fallen, but your work is not done.

ZeeOps Scientists have started developing an evolutionary strain of munzees. These Evolution Munzees, also known as Evos, come in many forms. We’re still in the testing phase, but we need our agents to see how these Evos react in the real world. It is up to you to capture and deploy a variety of these Evos for the sake of science.

June 2019 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Remember that if you hit a snag at any point in your Operation you can use the Mission Mulligan feature to keep going!

Since this month’s requirements are focused on Evolution Munzees, you may want to stock up in the Freeze Tag store! You can also pick up Evos in a monthly MunzPak subscription!

By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the new “LegaZeeOps- Operation: Pre:Evolution” badge.

This month’s Missions are as follows:

LEVEL 1:
Basic Training + – Earn at least 1,000 points.
Defensive Training- Deploy at least 10 munzees.
Offensive Training- Capture at least 25 munzees.
Evolutionary Studies I- Deploy at least 5 physical or virtual Evolution Munzees.
Evolutionary Studies II- Capture at least 10 physical or virtual Evolution Munzees.

June Resolutions Badge Details

Our monthly Capture Streak badges have been centered around a year of personal improvement through highlighting different monthly resolutions. This month we’re challenging players to save money for the June Resolutions badge.

Tips for Saving

While some are naturally skilled in the art of restraint, others need more motivation to hold themselves back from bleeding their wallets dry. However, no matter how careless you might be with your spending, it is entirely possible to reverse your financial situation by adhering to ways to save money. To maximize your long-term profits, take advantage of interest when moving around bank account assets. Take inventory of the items you have accumulated over the years, and rather than continue to add to the collection, consider what you can sell. There’s a good chance you can profit from scarcely used items in your possession.

Instead of purchasing items when the mood strikes, carefully plan your shopping endeavors. Collect coupons, sign up for rewards programs, and stock up during seasonal sales. Purchase items in their off-season, and plan ahead for holiday shopping. For example, it will be far more cost effective to purchase winter apparel at the end of the cold season and save it for the next year if you know you’ll be needing a new coat in the future. Be thrifty with your spending, and don’t leave important purchases or gifts for the last minute. By planning ahead, you can secure the most desirable prices rather than shell out extra cash for a last minute need.

Stick to your shopping list, and restrain from impulse purchases. Decide which nights you want to go out, and stick to a set budget when you do so or plan social outings around discount nights. Take care of the items that you do have, and invest in high quality, long-lasting items rather than disposable trendy apparel. Be conscious of how much money you spend on take out and eating away from home and how often you waste electricity. Investing in smart appliances is a great way to lower bills and help the environment.

No, you won’t be able to take your money to the grave. But with life being so unpredictable, you never know when some extra savings could be your saving grace. Additionally, by abstaining from giving in to momentary purchases and whims, you can save your hard-earned money for things that matter, like visiting a faraway friend or relative or doing something that you’ve dreamed of. Avoid hardship down the line and open the possibility for more opportunities by being a bit more reserved with your spending.

May Resolutions Badge Details

How has 2019 been treating you so far? If it hasn’t been your year to shine, fear not, because there are still eight months left for positive growth and change! Our monthly Capture Streak Badges have been centered around a year of personal improvement, bringing us the resolution to eat healthy (January), make new friends (February), explore new hobbies (March), and get organized (April). Summer is fast approaching on the Northern Hemisphere, and our May Resolutions badge is to travel more!

Each month’s badge is dedicated to accomplishing a different New Year’s Resolution. Like our Super Streak badges, you will be awarded a badge if you capture at least one Munzee* each day for the entire month. Each month provides the opportunity to put your best foot forward, so if you’re new to the game or accidentally missed a day, there’s no time like the present to get started on your streaks!

Traveling Tips

Many people plan to travel, but then this crazy thing happens. Life gets in the way. Traveling can be a financial burden for many, and big vacations can often take years to plan and save up. However, you only get one life to live, and that life should be filled with happy adventure! Traveling doesn’t have to mean flying around the world; it can involve simply getting into your car and driving to a town nearby that you haven’t explored. It can even involve venturing to new places in your town!

Break the routine of prosaic living and allow yourself the chance to experience more of what the world has to offer. Traveling allows for the chance to experience new walks of life, expand your perspective, and meet new people along the way. Learn how to travel the smart way with budget friendly tips. Rather than rent expensive hotels, take advantage of room renting services, such as Airbnb, to save money. This will also allow you the opportunity to select lodging with a kitchen so that you can save money on dining out! Shopping local and preparing meals will save you a lot of money while away from home.

Many plan vacations for the summer, but traveling in the off-season is almost always a guaranteed way to save money. You can also cut down on expenses by traveling with friends or family, in order to split costs, or by traveling to where you know people. Though you might be tempted to stop for mementos, gift shops and general shopping should be avoided in order to save big bucks. The memories you make should be more than enough, and the less you purchase, the more you’ll be able to travel in the future. Lastly, always try to do some online searching pre-trip to scout out the best deals in the area you’re heading to.

Holiday Goodies are on the Horizon with ZEEster Eggs!

Update: All ZEEster Eggs and Hatched Eggs count as MOBs (Munzee Owned Bouncers.)

Will the Easter Bunny be hopping to your house this year? Even if you’re not expecting a visit from this furry friend, you can still fill up your Easter basket with plenty of treats. However, these goodies aren’t of the edible variety— but that doesn’t mean that they won’t satisfy! The Munzee ZEEster Eggs will launch on April 17 at 00:01 MHQ time and stay on the map until April 28 at 22:22 MHQ time for quadruple the holiday fun!

ZEEster Eggs

How do you like your eggs cooked? Scrambled? Over easy? With a side of points? (We’ll have the last option!) The ZEEster Eggs will introduce four new Munzee specials to the game, including the physical Blue Egg, Red Egg, and Yellow Egg, as well as the virtual White Egg. Worried about being able to cap one? All four Eggs can be magnetized. Be sure to pick up your Virtual Magnets and Physical Magnets from the Freeze Tag Online Store to increase your capping chances!

The ZEEster Egg specials will hit the map April 17 at midnight MHQ time and enjoy a comfortable run until April 28. In that time span, the Eggs will bounce around every 6 hours or when captured. There will be a set number of each Egg landing on the map, with 419 White Eggs, 140 of both Blue and Red eggs, and 139 Yellow Eggs.

The Eggs will not be blastable, but you CAN capture on your “owned” munzees or any previously capped munzee. You can access this special under the Premium “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters. The physical and virtual specials will land on greenies and all color virtuals, respectively.

Points

White Egg: split 60 points with a minimum of 15 for Capture and Host PLUS receive 1 PinPoint (What’s that?!)
Blue/Red/Yellow Egg: split 75 points with a minimum of 17 for Capture and Host PLUS receive 1 PinPoint
Hatched Eggs (all colors): Cap 100 points PLUS receive 5 PinPoints, No CapOn points

Wait, did the points include Hatched Eggs?! We almost forgot to mention, there is a fair chance that capturing a ZEEster Egg will lead to a Scatter in the form of Hatched Eggs!

There is a chance upon capturing a physical Egg or a virtual Egg that a Hatched Egg will be caused to scatter. Capturing the White Egg has the possibility for a Hatched White Egg to scatter within 2,000 feet as a new virtual, similar to how the Feather Munzee works. Upon capturing one of the physical Eggs, the corresponding Red/Blue/Yellow Hatched Egg has the chance to scatter within 1,400 feet as a new virtual. The capture radius will be 300 feet for the Hatched Egg scatters. They will not be blastable OR have magnet attraction.

Badges

That’s not all the fun to be had! In addition to our ZEEster Eggs and Hatched Eggs, there will also be a line of badges associated with the specials. Be sure to capture lots of different combinations of both Egg and Hatched Egg colors, because there are a total of five badges you can earn! Since we’re celebrating a holiday, we’ll give you a sneak peak of the first badge in the series below:

Recycling Program Revamped with QRew and QRewzee Launches!

Many Munzee players are already familiar with ZeeQRew, an elite program that is composed of players who have shown a dedication to growing the game of Munzee. They also replace missing munzees in order to assist in gameplay upkeep. In line with our active initiative, we are excited to announce a new type of Munzee to replace the old recycling program, as well as a new team of helpful players. It’s time to welcome the launch of the QRewzee Munzee and the addition of the brand new QRew team to the game!

QRew

With the game growing every day, we decided that even a crew as talented as ZeeQRew could use some extra cleanup help. That’s where QRew comes into play, a brand new title and duty that some of you might have already seen assigned to your game profiles. This new group of players can be thought of as “ZeeQRew Jr.” It’s an introductory level for those of you that are still working to achieve full ZeeQRew status.

Just like ZeeQRew has its own list of requirements, there are specific requirements for joining QRew. In order to become a member of QRew, you have to be a Premium Member. The additional requirements for making QRew are as follows:

Have at least 100 deploys of any type AND
Have at least 1,000 captures of any type AND
Have at least 1 cap and 1 deploy in the last 14 days

If you are one of the players who is currently eligible for QRew, you will notice a new title on your profile! Exactly like ZeeQRew, QRew status is earned or revoked at 00:01 MHQ time on the 1st and 15th of each month if requirements are met.

If the requirements are met on these dates, the player will earn or retain the ZeeQRew or QRew title. If the requirements are not met, the title will be removed from any current ZeeQRew or QRew players, BUT it may be re-earned at the next checkpoint. Keep in mind that since the QRew requirements are not as steep as ZeeQRew, it’s also possible for a player to grow from QRew to ZeeQRew. However, if you lose ZeeQRew you are nothing (but you have the chance to regain your status)!

The rewards for QRew are as follows:

QRew title in app & online
The ability to replace any physical Munzee, regardless of owner, using a generic sticker*

Although the title has already been awarded, the ability for QRew members to replace munzees will be available in a V4 app update coming very soon! There will be no badge, discount, or unique merchandise associated with QRew. Players must continue to grow and become ZeeQRew to earn added rewards. However, QRew isn’t the only update to the former Munzee recycling program…

QRewzee

Along with the launch of QRew, we are happy to announce a new type of munzee to replace the former Recycle Munzee. All QRew and ZeeQRew members will see this icon on the map for the following physical Munzee types which have had no activity on them in the last 365 days. These munzees include:

All Physical Jewels
Physical Clan Weapons
Greenies
Regular (Blue) Mysteries and Physical Elemental Mysteries including Fire, Earth, Water, and Ice
Premium Munzees
Seasonal
Shamrock
All RUMs including Treasure Chest evolution
Zodiac (original not including Chinese Zodiac)

The new icons will only appear on designated QRewsdays. Each month a schedule will be announced to designate when QRewsdays will occur, similar to how our monthly Flat Friends schedules work**. Capture of the QRewzee Munzee will award 100 points and the icon. There will be 10 CapOn points. You CAN capture a QRewzee Munzee on your own munzee or a previously captured munzee.

To see the QRewzee Munzees, look on the physical “Others” filter and the new QRewzee filter under premium options to “Only show these types.” Please note that players will only be able to specifically filter QRewzees in v4 of the Munzee app.

There will also be a line of hidden badges associated with capture of the QRewzee Munzees. The first in the series will appear as follows:

Without the diligence of our elite group of players, Munzee wouldn’t be the same! Thanks to all ZeeQRew members for their past gameplay upkeep and hope the new QRewzee points will be an incentive to keep it up. We appreciate all players that take the time and opportunity to grow the map and make Munzee better for all! We are excited to launch QRew and see more players get involved in upkeep and maintenance!
