While this card does have the same point structure as other Limited Edition cards, it does have some key differences, so here’s a breakdown:

  • When captured, it will scatter up to 3 one Rainbow Zeds which award different amounts of Zeds, to both the capper and owner.  This has been edited after sale completed to show only one scatter. We delivered an additional 1 free card per card purchased after the sale completed.
  • You may remember the Rainbow Zeds were previously introduced from MOBs in the past
  • Instead of expiring 7 days after deploy, it will expire after 3 caps, to ensure that the Zeds are awarded
  • These cards will be sold in packs of 2, vs the usual 3 for Limited Edition cards

March 2023 Skin: Frog Hedge

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into March with your desired Hedges! The skin for completing your February capture streak (and the corresponding badge), which is the Rabbit Garden Hedge shown below, will be awarded in early February. But, we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store for next month!

February Hedge Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Hedge yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $11.

How to have a permanent Hedge on your account next year:

  • Own at least 8 Hedges by the end of the year
    • Each month, the price of a Hedge will decrease by $1.
    • However, players can only purchase 1 Hedge every 28 days.

Also, don’t forget that Reseller Garden Hedges have arrived!  These unique munzee types are only available for purchase from participating Munzee Resellers, so shop now!

March Hedge Details

What Hedge Skin can you look forward to earning in March? The Frog Garden Hedge! Like the other hedges, the Frog Garden Hedge is a temporary POB that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Hedges continue to use it.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to complete next month’s (March’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in April, you can change the skin on the hedge to this one at any point — refer to our Help Guide article for the instructions!

You can find these hopping hedges at the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Frog Garden Hedge will scatter up to 3 NEW Johnny Jump Up Flowers nearby when it is captured!

Like the other Hedge Flowers, these scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Hedge owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These hedge scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Hedges have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more hedges you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned hedge!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many hedges as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Frog Garden Hedge:

A New Gaming Munzee Fit For a Queen!

We have a special announcement for MunzPak subscribers, as the September MunzPaks will feature the brand new Chess Set Munzees! It will be available in Virtual and Hybrid MunzPak subscriptions, which you can order in the Freeze Tag Online Store beginning on September 1 at 00:01 MHQ time (remember if you order a MunzPak before then, you will be ordering the August one!). You can also purchase these munzees by themselves or in a few Gaming Packs HERE!

Chess Sets

This new munzee type is based on the classic game of chess, which has recently enjoyed an increase in popularity due to the Netflix show, The Queen’s Gambit. Chess Sets come in both Walnut (physical) and Maple (virtual) forms, though both forms work similarly and are worth the same point values.

The point values for the Chess Sets are as follows:

Points 

  • Cap: 64
  • CapOn: 30
  • Deploy: 50

Maple Chess Sets are not blastable. To access these munzees (including the scatters), turn on their filters in the “Physical – Gaming” and “Virtual – Gaming” sections.

Chess Pieces

Capping a Chess Set will cause up to three Chess Pieces to scatter nearby, like Feathers, within 1500 feet. This means there are no CapOn points, but if you’re lucky, you’ll get the rarer pieces — the point values for all of them are shown below! They’ll stay on the map for 2 hours after scattering. The capture radius is 300 feet for these, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well! These can only be seen by the person who capped the Chess Set, similar to Infrared Munzees.

The point values for the Chess Pieces are as follows:

  • Pawn: 10
  • Knight: 30
  • Bishop: 30
  • Rook: 50
  • Queen: 90
  • King: 100

Badges

There are currently 9 badges you can earn by playing with our Chess Sets, split into 2 different badge lines. One badge line, which covers 6 of those badges, is based on the number of points you’ve earned with Chess Sets and Chess Pieces. You can see the first badge in this line below:

Priority Pawn – Earn 1,000 Total Points from Chess Set Munzees of any type.

The remaining 3 badges are based on capturing a specific combination of Chess Pieces. Since these badges have special requirements we’d like you to discover as you play, we want to keep them a secret for now. Hopefully they shouldn’t be too tough for you to get!

Celebrate 9th Birthday Events at Camp Munzee!

Howdy everyone! July 2020 is our 9th birthday and we want to celebrate with YOU at Camp Munzee! We’ll have more details about all sorts of fun birthday surprises in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

This year we’re going to do it in a slightly different way with player events. All events that take place between July 1st and September 9th will receive a special Camp Munzee Camper badge for players. Event hosts will also receive the Camp Munzee Counselor badge for hosting an event during this timeframe.

There will be no special event packages during this time however you are still able to add a custom icon and badge to your event. Louise is ready to work with hosts to customize their events so please get your events on the calendar and setup your basic event package!

There is one special new munzee that will only be available to purchase for event accounts! The brand new limited edition Event Greeting Card! For the 9th birthday events these cards will cost $9.99 for 40 cards! Contact Louise to order for your event!

As always please respect your local guidelines for social distancing and safety. We hope a 9 week period for our 9th birthday events gives more people a chance to host, attend and earn the badges.

Keep Up with Munzee News AND Specials Inside the App!

We love how active our player community is, especially on social media, which definitely helps to grow the game! This blog, our social media accounts, and in-app messages, are just some of the many ways we communicate updates to our players.

We’re now making it easier than ever to keep up with all of the latest Munzee news right in the app. With this latest update, we hope to bridge the gap between this living app and you!

NEW What’s New? Section

This new section of the app can be found by tapping the Hamburger Menu icon at the top left corner of most of the app’s screens, then by tapping on [What’s New?] between the [Store] and [Notifications] buttons.

What's New

Similar to the Filters section, there are 3 tabs at the top that allow you to switch between the following subsections:

  • News – shows the most recent blog posts in button form, with the newest at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open that blog post in your device’s default browser.
  • Featured – shows all active Munzee Owned Bouncers (MOBs) AND temporary Player Owned Bouncers (tPOBs) in button form, with the soonest to leave the map at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open a window in your device’s default browser showing all the relevant blog posts.
  • Schedule – shows all active scheduled munzees (Flat Friends, QRewzees, and RetireMyths) in button form, with the soonest to leave the map at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open the current schedule for that munzee in your device’s default browser.

When there’s new information released you’ll also see a red icon next to “What’s New?” to let you know there’s been some breaking news! We’re still putting out in-app messages, emails, social posts and more, but this section is meant so players can easily access a collective area for all their Munzee news.

Button Migration

To make room for the [What’s New?] button, we moved the old [Offline Mode] button into the [Tools] section, and renamed it [Offline Queue].

We hope you find this NEW app section useful, whether you’re at home reading the latest blog post or out in the wild hunting the current active MOBs!

ZeeOps- Operation: RE:vive (February 2020)

At the end of last year, ZeeOps HQ’s Neurological Memory Technology was under attack by The Rising Sons. Although it was believed that enemies had hacked ZeeOps HQ’s Neurological Memory Technology, it turns out it was a sleeper cell within our ranks. In fact it was the recently rescued Director Zee that forced agents to relive previous ZeeOps missions! It seems the Rising Sons really did a number on Director Zee…

Unfortunately, we’ve had to purge much of the corrupted data, and Director Zee is still on the mend after he was brainwashed by the Rising Sons. Although this is disheartening, we have found a silver lining: our training prompts appear to be jogging some of the Director’s memories! It’s up to you to help the Director regain control by reliving specific past missions. Can you revive the heart of ZeeOps HQ?

February 2020 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You will only have until February 29th at 23:59 MHQ to complete this month’s Operations. There are only two Operation types available for this month- the Basic Op (3 days) and the Advanced Op (7 days). The window of time to complete missions may be shorter, but we believe in you!

You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Remember that if you hit a snag at any point in your Operation you can use the Mission Mulligan feature to keep going! This month features a variety of munzee types so be sure to stock up in the Freeze Tag Online Store.

By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the “Operation: RE:vive” badge.

 

This month’s Missions are as follows:

Level 1

  • Defensive Training – Deploy at least 10 munzees.
  • Offensive Training – Capture at least 25 munzees.
  • Basic Training + – Earn at least 1000 points.
  • Seeing Stars I – Capture at least 15 Zodiac Munzees of any type.
  • Bountiful Bouncers – Capture at least 6 of any type of POB.

Level 2

  • Group Training – Earn at least 500 cap-on points.
  • Precious Stone Stockpiler – Capture at least 20 jewels.
  • Spurious Stones – Deploy at least 5 jewels.
  • Exemplary Evolutions – Deploy at least 10 physical or virtual Evolution Munzees.
  • It’s Not Easy Being Green – Capture at least 15 and deploy at least 5 Greenies.

Completing Operations will give you some hard earned rewards as well.

This month’s rewards are:

Basic Op
2 Virtuals, 2 Virtual Colors, 1 Sapphire, 1 Briefcase, 125 Zeds and 5 ZeeCred

Advanced Op

Foresight is 20/20 with these New Specials!

This Throwback Thursday harkens back to the joys of yesteryear with an equally special announcement. Following the success of last year’s Global Grub specials, we are excited to announce that our first of two dozen 20/20 Vision specials for the year will be launching this afternoon at 15:00 MHQ. If you use reading glasses, make sure you have them equipped so you can learn all about these special accessories!

The 20/20 Vision specials are very rare munzees that will bounce around the world for the remainder of the year. That means you’ll be spending the next twelve months capturing pins featuring 24 different pairs of glasses in order to earn their corresponding badges. We hope spotting these rare munzees will help to train and improve your vision!

Our first 20/20 Vision special to launch is the Spectacular Spectacles Munzee! This physical munzee, features a pair of plain black frames. These may seem a little basic, but don’t worry there’s all sorts of eye-catching eyewear in store! Only one will be deployed, and it will bounce to Greenies every 12 hours or when captured. These will be attracted to Magnets though so be sure to stock up! 


Points:

  • Cap: 200 points
  • CapOn (Host): 100 points

Players will earn a badge for each different 20/20 Vision Munzee they capture starting with the Perfect Vision badge for capturing the Spectacular Spectacles pin! Down the line, we’ll also be putting out an overall capture line, so stay tuned for more.

Each 20/20 Vision Munzee will go live at 15:00 MHQ on their assigned day. We’re not announcing when each launch will be, but we expect to release a couple specials each month.

All 20/20 Vision specials will leave the map on 12/31/2020 at 23:59 MHQ. Until then, you’ll be able to capture the 20/20 Vision specials on other players’ munzees as well as your own. Although there is only one Spectacular Spectacles 20/20 Vision Special, future releases may include more. You’ll just have to wait and see! Some of these specials will be physical, while others will be virtual. Keep in mind that virtuals will not be blastable.

ZeeOps- Operation: Glitch (December 2019)

Despite all odds, ZeeOps HQ has been given new life! Due to the success of Project: B.O.U.N.C.E.R. Director Zee has been rescued, and the enemy is one step closer to defeat. Together we can bring The Rising Sons to their knees, although it appears that the enemy’s stranglehold on HQ has made some messes.

ZeeOps scientists are investigating issues with the Neurological Memory Technology our recruits use for training. The system keeps glitching and Director Zee worries the enemy may be attacking from within. To stop this cyber attack you’ll have to complete a variety of past missions before the system is taken over completely.

December 2019 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Remember that if you hit a snag at any point in your Operation you can use the Mission Mulligan feature to keep going!

  • It’s Not Easy Being Green – Capture at least 15 and deploy at least 5 Greenies.
  • Pre-Advanced Training – Earn at least 10,000 points.

Completing Operations will give you some hard earned rewards as well.

This month’s rewards are:

ZeeOps- Operation: 1UP (November 2019)

After the fall of ZeeOps HQ more than a year ago it seemed all hope was lost. Thankfully surviving ZeeOps agents have formed a secret rebellion known as The Gamers. Although the Mean Green Gang has been dealt a critical blow, there is still much work to do if we want to avenge the legacy of ZeeOps.

The Gamers’ rebellion was a brutal strike to the Mean Green Gang, but there are more nefarious enemies to take down. If we want to stop these culprits we’ll need to pull out the big guns. Learn more about the mysterious Project B.O.U.N.C.E.R., track down Director Zee, and strengthen your forces before we take the battle to The Rising Sons.

November 2019 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Remember that if you hit a snag at any point in your Operation you can use the Mission Mulligan feature to keep going!

By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the “Operation: 1UP” badge.

This month’s Missions are as follows:

Level One:

  • Weapons Training- Capture at least 10 clan weapons.
  • Virtually Vertical- Capture at least 5 of any virtual type munzee AND capture at least 1 of ANY type of POB
  • Barbaric Bouncing- Deploy at least 5 clan weapons of any type AND capture at least 1 of ANY type of POB
  • Physical Flyer- Capture at least 3 of any physical type munzees AND capture at least 1 of ANY type of POB.
  • Bountiful Bouncers- Capture at least 6 of any type of POB

Level Two:

  • Pre-Advanced Training- Earn at least 10,000 points.
  • Swinging And Springing- Capture at least 10 greenies AND at least 10 clan weapons of any type AND capture at least 1 of ANY type of POB.
  • Lethal Leaping- Capture at least 10 clan weapons of any type AND deploy at least 5 munzees of any type AND capture at least 1 of ANY type of POB.
  • Hop To It- Earn at least 5,000 points AND capture at least 3 of any type of POB
  • Battle Of The Bouncers- Capture at least 10 of any type of POB

Completing Operations will give you some hard earned rewards as well.

ZeeOps- Operation Game Over (October 2019)

It’s been more than a year since the fall of ZeeOps HQ. The Rising Sons and The Mean Green Gang control all aspects of what’s left of the organization. All is not lost though. In the past year you have helped organize a secret rebellion known as The Gamers. Although your numbers are few, you’re ready to put an end to this era of control.

Be careful though. Despite your allegiances to the secret rebellion, you have to keep your cover and do as MGG demands.The Gamers’ plan can’t be revealed before it’s time to strike, so you’ll need to keep doing MGG’s dirty work as well.

October 2019 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Remember that if you hit a snag at any point in your Operation you can use the new Mission Mulligan feature to keep going!

Level One:
