Ahoy there Flat RUM Scatters!

Yo ho, yo ho – a pirate’s life for me! Now, pirates may be known to be quite devious – but they had one thing going for them, their love of RUM! And, coincidentally National Rum Day is today, August 16, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to celebrate our beloved Resellers with some Flat RUM Scatters! Starting NOW until Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 23:59 MHQ, Flat RUMs will temporarily scatter 1-3 Pirate Wares!

Limited Time Scatter Details

From the period of Wednesday, August 16 at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, August 27th at 23:59 MHQ, when you capture Flat RUMS, up to 3 Pirate Wares may be scattered nearby!

And as for any good Treasure Chest, the Two Dimensional Treasure has a chance of rewarding you with Zeds! Shiver me timbers!

The Pirate Wares Flat scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flat RUM owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well! These Virtual scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for the Pirate Wares are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 25 points

Munzee Update Announcement

UPDATE – AUGUST 12, 2023: If you are having problems receiving your password reset email – please try again – and check for an email from “noreply@munzee.com” as well as your spam / junk folder.

Since some players are still having difficulties logging in we have made the decision to make both August 12th and 13th blackout days for gameplay streaks as well. We’re aware of issues this may cause for Clan Wars so we will make an announcement regarding requirements next week as well. 

First off, we want to say a huge thank you for your patience and understanding during the last few days! Our team has been working nonstop to make sure the backend update is ready to go. We’ve completed our testing behind closed doors and have begun turning all components of the game back on. 

As a reminder you MUST reset your password and login using your email moving forward. All players need to delete the current version of the app and install the new update (Version 4.1.183) from the app store. It may take some time for the new update to appear in the app stores, so please check back later if you don’t see it yet.
* Event hosts, an email will be sent to you with information about your event account login.

There may be problems that we need help identifying, and we’ll be working on tackling any high priority issues that pop up today. We will give an all clear in a few hours so all players will know we are confident full gameplay may continue.

There are a few known issues that we will need to circle back to, but we don’t think these will interrupt the majority of gameplay. 

  • Emails for nearby deploys, summary activity, etc. may be delayed.
  • Third-party fitness vendors like Fitbit and Garmin may still need some updates.

As a reminder due to the ongoing update we have made August 9th, 10th, and 11th blackout days for gameplay streaks. We are also aware of certain temporary destinations that were affected by the delays so we have made the following decisions in regards to Dice Towers:

  • All dice towers active before and during maintenance have been archived
  • All players with an active Dice Tower going into the maintenance time have received a new Dice Tower

Once again, thank you for your continued support and understanding during this update!

Flat Disc Scatters are BACK With a NEW Badge!

National Disc Golf Day is coming up this Saturday, so you know what that means… Flat Disc Scatters are BACK! Cap Robbie’s Flat Disc Golf Basket and watch the discs fly! Keep reading for more details!

Limited Time Scatter Details

From the period of Friday, August 4th at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, August 13th at 23:59 MHQ, when you capture a Flat Disc Golf Basket, up to 3 Discs may be scattered nearby!

The Discs will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flat Disc Golf Basket owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well! These disc scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Discs are as follows:

  • Putter Disc
    • Capture: 25 points
    • CapOn: 15 points
  • Mid-Range Disc
    • Capture: 50 points

Hear ye, hear ye! We’re excited to announce our LAST birthday surprise! He’s got eyes, and teeth… and more eyes – oh my! He’s the NEW Storyland Myth: the Dodecahedron! The Dodecahedron is an homage to the famous creature of tabletop gaming lore! NEW Dodecahedron Details

Like the other Mythological Munzees, the Dodecahedron is a permanent POB. It is the 5th of a NEW Storyland line of Myths, so expect to see more creative creatures in the future!

Landing Pads

You can find these terrifying tentacles crawling to the landing pads above every 12 hours or when captured.

The Dodecahedron will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a Dodecahedron on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Dodecahedron visits you. Dodecahedrons are non-blastable. They will be attracted to Magnets. You can access them by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When a Dodecahedron is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Deyes.

August 2023 Skin: Elephant Hedge

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into August with your desired Hedges! The skin for completing your July capture streak (and the corresponding badge), which is the Lion Garden Hedge shown below, will be awarded in early August. But, we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store for next month!

July Hedge Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Hedge yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $6.

How to have a permanent Hedge on your account next year:

  • Own at least 8 Hedges by the end of the year
    • Each month, the price of a Hedge will decrease by $1.
    • However, players can only purchase 1 Hedge every 28 days.

Also, don’t forget that Reseller Garden Hedges have arrived!  These unique munzee types are only available for purchase from participating Munzee Resellers, so shop now!

What Hedge Skin can you look forward to earning in August? The Elephant Garden Hedge! Like the other hedges, the Elephant Garden Hedge is a temporary POB that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Hedges continue to use it.

August 2023 Clan Wars Requirements

It’s almost August! You’ll find all the latest details to our clan requirements and rewards in the clan section of our app. It is possible that we could update clan requirements prior to August 3 and reserve the right to do so. The final requirements and rewards will always be shown in the app.
We plan some scheduled maintenance to occur during August. We will announce it in advance and adjust clan requirements as necessary if there is any substantial downtime for gameplay.

We recommend the CuppaZee app and website for additional tracking of clan stats and daily gameplay!

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Stargazing Specials!

Twinkle, twinkle, little Stargazing specials… how I wonder where you are! What will these mythical constellations say about you? We’re kicking off our Dozens & Dragons 12th Birthday by honoring our twelve Mythological Munzees!

Shine bright like a star with our NEW Stargazing specials! Powered by a 12-sided dodecahedron lens, you’ll encounter all kinds of different Myth-themed constellations, as long as you have your trusty telescope with you! Starting NOW, the physical Telescope and virtual Spyglass MOBs will bounce around the map until Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 04:00 MHQ – which, is exactly 1000 hours! We wanted to see if the community could reach all the goals within 1000 hours – thankfully these specials didn’t take 1000 hours to launch, but can you complete the set within that time?

Stargazing Specials

These outer space observations will be released in waves, but will end at a total of 1500 Telescopes and 1500 Spyglasses. They will bounce around on the map every 4 hours or when captured. When you capture one of these specials it will reveal a variety of different icons including Constellations and Consolations. Only the Telescope or Spyglass icon will show on the map, but at launch there are a possibility of 6 different Stargazing icons for each (a total of 12 different results) revealed after the special is captured.

You can find these specials at the following Munzees near you:

Both of the Stargazing Constellations will be worth 150 Capture points and 50 CapOn points, and the Consolations will be worth 50 Capture points and 50 CapOn points points so you don’t want to miss out! The Telescope will be attracted to Physical Magnets, while the Spyglass will be attracted to Virtual Magnets. To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Constellations and Consolations:

Capturing a Telescope or Spyglass will reveal what’s at the other end of the lens! The purpose of Stargazing is to identify different mythical Constellations, but sometimes you might have to settle for a Consolation! At launch you can expect to see the Unicornis and Leipreachan Constellations as well as a few others, but you also might come across a Smudged View or Cracked Spyglass Consolation. We’ll keep the rest of the captivating constellations a secret for now, but more types will appear as the month goes on, so make sure to keep an eye out!

Badges:

We’ve created a whopping 17 NEW Badges for you to earn via specific gameplay actions! There’s a variety of different ways to earn these, some from capturing certain amounts of constellations, others from overall Stargazing captures, and more! We’ll show you two and keep the rest a secret. It’s up to you to figure out the requirements for the other badges – good luck!

Community Goals:

As every good D&D party will tell ye, “teamwork makes the dream work” and we’re challenging you all to work as a community to unlock NEW Myth Skins designed by WallaBee artist Andy Cameron! What better way to celebrate our fantasy themed birthday, than by giving the original 12 Myths a fresh look? Starting with the Unicorn, the community will need to capture 12,000 capture Stargazing Specials to permanently unlock the new skin for owners of the myth bouncer. Once the goal is hit all normal Unicorns will auto convert to the new skin! Please allow up to 24 hours for the new Myth images to update. If anyone has any Unicorn variants or skins equipped those won’t be auto swapped but you will have access to convert to the new skin.

Myth owners will also earn a corresponding badge featuring the new Myth design for achieving the goal. Once the first goal is met the community will need to earn an additional 12,000 capture Stargazing Specials to unlock the next Myth design. This pattern will continue for all 12 Myths, so keep capping Stargazing Specials all month long!

These new designs will be the official Myth designs moving forward, but players that own any of the 12 original Myths will still be able to swap back to the old “Legacy Skins” after these new ones are earned. Once birthday month is over, all newly purchased myths will use these new skins moving forward, so the legacy skins will no longer be attainable. July will be the last chance for players to purchase and lock in access to the legacy skins before they’re gone forever! Any Myths that are purchased from July 1st to July 31st will be retroactively awarded the legacy skins in early August.

CuppaZee Tracking:

How can you keep track of the community’s progress toward these new goals? Through the handy dandy CuppaZee app, of course! There you will find a public leaderboard that is tracking the number of overall Stargazing Specials captured by the entire community! Pretty cool, right?

July Badges

Your Clan can earn monthly badges to earn for reaching distinct levels of Clan Wars each month. You won’t be able to earn a badge until the entire clan has reached the specified level. There will be a total of 6 badges available in July. The first badge will appear as follows:
