Premium Memberships Available In-App, and MORE!

This update, 4.1.117, has been in the works for quite some time now — if you don’t see it in the App Stores yet, please check back again later! There’s a lot of changes we’d like you to know about, so make sure to read all the way until the end! You never know when this knowledge may come in handy!

Premium Memberships

The main goal for this update is to expand your options with Premium Memberships. While the Premium Membership available in our official Freeze Tag Online Store is still the best value, the new Monthly Premium Membership offers a bit more flexibility!

Please note if you are already a Premium Member, you won’t see the new Premium Membership options in the In-App Store, until your membership expires.

There are a few things we’d like you to note about the Monthly Premium Membership:

  • at $2.99 a month it will cost slightly more than the Yearly Membership ($29.99 a year) per month — a whopping $0.49 more — so if you’re buying it more than 10 times a year, it would be in your best interest to upgrade to a Yearly Membership.
  • it will NOT include the following items that are part of the Yearly Membership:
    • 1 Premium Munzee
    • 1 Blast Capture
    • 2 Virtual Munzees
    • 2 Color Credits
    • 1 Flat Rob
    • 1 Butterfly Evolution
  • it WILL include all the in-app features that are part of the Yearly Membership:
    • Premium Filters
    • Filter Presets
    • Daily Leaderboard
    • Titles
    • Ability to upload Photos
    • Ability to create Clans
    • etc.!
  • it WILL also include the following items on the 15th of each month:
    • 110 Zeds
    • 1 QRowbar

For your convenience, the Yearly Premium Membership has also been added to the In-App Store. It is exactly the same as the one available in the Freeze Tag Store — use whichever option you like!

Please note that for both the Monthly and Yearly Premium Memberships available in-app, they are set to auto-renew. If you are planning to cancel, make sure to do so at least 24 hours before your current membership period ends. We’ve added two ways in the app where you can check this:

  • Tap on the Premium Star in your Profile
  • Navigate to the [Help & Info] section

Lastly, as both the Monthly and Yearly Premium Memberships available in-app have a built-in 7-Day Free Trial, we will no longer be giving new accounts 7-Day Free Trials automatically on sign-up. This probably doesn’t affect most of you who’ve been playing Munzee for a while, but we thought it would be helpful for you to know in case you were planning to introduce Munzee to new players.

Other Changes

We’ve also squeezed in some fixes and improvements to other parts of the app, but the main one we wanted to bring to your attention is the Fitness section. Both Apple and Google Play are requiring us to confirm that we only want access to non-sensitive step data — which has always been the case with our Fitness section — but some additional updates were needed to make sure that we comply with their updated rules and regulations. We will post another update letting players know once we hear back and when this should be resolved. In other words, we have a few more steps to take before we can count yours!

Eat healthier in 2019 with a Golden Carrot Munzee!

When we launched the Farm Set of Evolution Munzees in September 2016, Premium Members were awarded a special Golden Carrot Evolution Munzee. Golden Carrots have only been awarded a handful of times, so what better way to kick off a new year of eating healthier?!

On Thursday, January 10 at 23:59 MHQ time, all Premium Members will receive another Gold Carrot Munzee. Remember that there was a point increase for Golden Carrots last year, so it’s definitely a good crop!

As a reminder, the Golden Carrot is a credit that is applied to a generic. This will only be a convert option for uncapped greenies in the first 24 hours after deploy or for never deployed undeploys. When deployed it will grow just like the others, reaching Golden Carrot status in its final stage. You must be a Premium Member when the awarding takes place to receive one.

Premium Members to Receive Another Golden Carrot Munzee!

The Farm Set and the Golden Carrot (UPDATED)

Updated with more information regarding the credit aspect of the Golden Carrot.


Last week, we introduced the Evolution Munzee and it’s first set — the Farm Set. As a refresher, the first subset of the Farm Set includes Tomato, Corn, Carrot, and Peas. We have more information to share, starting with what some of them actually look like.

There was one vegetable that we left out of the original blog post: The Golden Carrot.

We want to kick off the month with some shine. On October 1st, all current Premium Members will have a Golden Carrot added to their accounts. The Golden Carrot is a credit that is applied to a generic and will only be available to Premium Members. This will only be a convert option for uncapped greenies in the first 24 hours after deploy or for never deployed undeploys. When deployed it will grow just like the others, reaching golden carrot status in it’s final stage. Undeployed Munzees – An Update for our players

We’ve listened to feedback from many of our premium members regarding the new Undeployed cap rules announced earlier this month.  As a mobile game company, we want our players to enjoy all aspects of the game, including Munzee deployment!  Without you, how would we grow the map?

The decision has been made to create a new cap limit on Undeployed Munzee for our Premium members.  Premium members can now hold up to 250 Undeployed in their Undeployed List.  Since our players are supporting us with their Premium memberships, it’s fair to provide Premium members a larger library of Undeployed Munzee.

Our basic player accounts are limited to 100 Undeployed Munzee.  For basic accounts and premium members that require a larger amount of Munzee, check out the Munzee store online for our Generic 1″ Munzee stickers.  Generic Munzee codes aren’t linked to your player account, so you don’t have to worry about your Undeployed List.  Our Generic stickers are the most convenient method to deploy large quantities of Munzee when necessary.

As we grow, it’s important to continually hear constructive feedback from our player community, and we appreciate the feedback we’ve received so far!  If you’ve got suggestions for us, feel free to contact us directly!
