ZeeQRew and QRew Players Need To Wake Up…

…SleepZees that is!

Starting today, all ZeeQRew and QRew members will see SleepZees during QRewzdays! SleepZees will appear on select Virtual Colors and Flat Friends that haven’t been capped in a year or more. MANY SleepZees are also blastable, which should help with those in hard-to-reach areas. Update in August 2021: More SleepZee types have been added. Not ALL are blastable. If the original virtual type is blastable so is the SleepZee. Example: Amethyst, Catapult and Surprise as SleepZee are NOT blastable.

Clan Wars players will be interested to know that SleepZee captures will also count towards the QRewzee capture requirements!

October QRewzdays Schedule

If you checked out yesterday’s Clan Wars post, you got a sneak peek of the QRewzdays schedule for October. As we’ve recently made more physical munzees eligible for QRewZEE status, we wanted to encourage more regular map maintenance.

For the foreseeable future, we’ve decided that QRewZEEs will continue to be a part of Clan Requirements for Levels 3, 4, and 5, and part of Individual Requirements for levels 4 and 5. This also means QRewzdays will continue with the same schedule as written below. So, if all goes well, this may be the last blog post dedicated specifically to QRewzdays! As always, this update we do may be subject to change in the future, with advanced notice. Remember to follow your local guidelines and Stay Home if required.

It’s time to mark your calendars for October QRewzdays to earn some QRewzee points! We’ve got a nice sprinkling of them throughout the month, so there’s likely a day that works for you! This time, it’s just all the multiples of 3 so it’s easy to remember!

The October QRewzdays are as follows:

The following dates beginning at 00:01 MHQ time until 23:59 MHQ time on the same day: October 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30

Remember that QRew and ZeeQRew status can be earned or revoked at 00:01 MHQ time on the 1st and 15th, so plan accordingly if you want to achieve or retain either title!

Celebrate National Hammock Day with Double Points!

As we mentioned at the start of the month, we wanted to give our beloved Daniel Hammock a good send-off as he welcomes a new addition to his family! Tomorrow is National Hammock Day, and we couldn’t think of a more perfect day to do it! Starting tomorrow at 00:01 MHQ, ALL activity on Flat Hammocks will be worth double points through 23:59 MHQ on July 26! That means all deploys, captures, and cap ons will be worth double points.

We’d love to see the map decorated with more of the rainbow colors of Flat Hammock! Remember that we are now on the Forever Flat schedule, so you’ll be able to rake in cap on points from Flat Hammocks much faster!

July Flat Friends and QRewzdays Schedules!

July is our birthday month and it is going to be full of announcements, fun, updates, and new stuff. Everything we do may be subject to change. Remember to follow your local guidelines and Stay Home if required.

Forever Flat Schedule

Our first big announcement for birthday month is that all 4 of our Flat Friends will be on the map forever! That’s right, we’ve made the decision to keep all flats on the map permanently instead of on a rotating basis like they were originally planned. There are several reasons for this update, but the main reason is based on the success of doing this for the past 3 months. The number of points available on a daily basis remains high for owners and cappers with this special layer of munzees. We hope you appreciate this change in your favor!

Join us as we celebrate our favorite cyclist with double points!

Surprise! It’s double points on ALL Flat Lou activity starting today, June 17 at 13:00 through June 21 at 23:59. That means all deploys, captures, and cap ons will be worth double points.

WHY? We are so excited to support Louise in her first professional cycling race we thought it would be best to share it with all of you! She is cycling as part of the Škoda DSI Cycling Academy Race Team in the Škoda V-Women’s Tour. This is a 3 stage race taking place today, Thursday, and Friday at 7pm British time. The race is being aired on BBC Sport in the UK and will be available to watch on Facebook and Youtube for the rest of the world.

We hope you will join us in cheering on Louise and her team during this amazing moment in her cycling career. During this time we will also be making a donation to World Bicycle Relief for purchases of Flat Lou in the online store. This donation will be $200 PLUS $0.25 for every Flat Lou sold between now and Sunday at midnight.

Keep Up with Munzee News AND Specials Inside the App!

We love how active our player community is, especially on social media, which definitely helps to grow the game! This blog, our social media accounts, and in-app messages, are just some of the many ways we communicate updates to our players.

We’re now making it easier than ever to keep up with all of the latest Munzee news right in the app. With this latest update, we hope to bridge the gap between this living app and you!

NEW What’s New? Section

This new section of the app can be found by tapping the Hamburger Menu icon at the top left corner of most of the app’s screens, then by tapping on [What’s New?] between the [Store] and [Notifications] buttons.

Similar to the Filters section, there are 3 tabs at the top that allow you to switch between the following subsections:

News – shows the most recent blog posts in button form, with the newest at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open that blog post in your device’s default browser.
Featured – shows all active Munzee Owned Bouncers (MOBs) AND temporary Player Owned Bouncers (tPOBs) in button form, with the soonest to leave the map at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open a window in your device’s default browser showing all the relevant blog posts.
Schedule – shows all active scheduled munzees (Flat Friends, QRewzees, and RetireMyths) in button form, with the soonest to leave the map at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open the current schedule for that munzee in your device’s default browser.

When there’s new information released you’ll also see a red icon next to “What’s New?” to let you know there’s been some breaking news! We’re still putting out in-app messages, emails, social posts and more, but this section is meant so players can easily access a collective area for all their Munzee news.

Button Migration

To make room for the [What’s New?] button, we moved the old [Offline Mode] button into the [Tools] section, and renamed it [Offline Queue].
