Munzee Toolkit MunzDay: LindaH417

One of the best parts about Munzee is that you can play how you want. Everyone goes about playing a bit differently, and that leads to some very creative and innovative uses of objects. From containers to bags to maintenance, we always encounter something new when we meet players. We want to showcase your Munzee Toolkits to see how you play the game and possibly even inspire other players who may need help!

The week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes to us from LindaH417, who hails from Aurora, IL. She started playing Munzee over 3 years ago, but it feels like she’s been playing for much longer — we always see her participating in our Eventzee hunts and other virtual activities! Read on to discover her essentials!

LindaH417 Toolkit

My Father brought me into munzee in March 2018 and I fell in love with the game immediately.

No matter where I go, my munzee kit comes with me. I have 2 different shoulder bags that I use and both have many pockets and quite a bit of room, just depends on if I’m out and about, or going to a munzee event.

My Kit consists of:

  • 5 containers of different munzees
  • 1 brand new container with munzees that I will give out to someone I meet if they are really interested in the game
  • I have wipes, hand sanitizer, and a munzee mask if needed
  • Scissors and a flash light
    • I carry scissors because in one case I have quite a few rows of greenies. The flashlight comes in handy if it’s dark and I shine it on the munzee and cap.
  • My Personals and my munzee name tag and a screen cloth
  • Also my iPod Touch, comes in handy if I can’t reach a munzee, I’ll take a picture and cap it that way
  • I also have a mirror and a small ice scraper.
    • The mirror comes in handy when munzees are place in odd areas and the phone won’t fit. The small scraper works perfect in winter when you need to scrape ice off a munzee to cap.

I love to travel to areas to cap, and deploy, McKinney Texas, Minneapolis and Florida are on my Bucket list.

I’m known to cap something no matter what, I’ve crawled under sun dials in the snow, I climbed a 5 foot snow bank, as I was capping the munzee the snow underneath me started to give so I jumped and rolled down to the bottom ?
If I see a special nearby at 1 in the morning, I grab my keys and in my pjs out I go!!

I love the game!!! ?

Munzee Toolkit Thurzday: vmbiohazard

One of the best parts about Munzee is that you can play how you want. Everyone goes about playing a bit differently, and that leads to some very creative and innovative uses of objects. From containers to bags to maintenance, we always encounter something new when we meet players. We want to showcase your Munzee Toolkits to see how you play the game and possibly even inspire other players who may need help!

The week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes to us from vmbiohazard, who hails from Pennsylvania. He started playing Munzee over 8 years ago, so we’re happy he’s stuck around for so long! He has even made the leap to co-hosting an event despite the current situation! Read on to discover his essentials and also find the link to his event!

vmbiohazard Toolkit

Hey all! I was first introduced to Munzee by my Uncle (HiTechMD). I go by the handle VMBiohazard. I started playing years ago when my uncle and I went Geocaching. I took a small break from both and then started playing again when COVID-19 hit. This got me out of the house and moving around. I have been going hard on Munzee ever since. I was fortunate enough to join the awesome clan that my Uncle is in, Surface Interval.

I live in South-Central Pennsylvania, work in Maryland, and vacation in New Jersey. My job allows me to travel quite a bit, so I additionally get to play all over. I will be co-hosting my first event in about a week in Maryland, and will be looking to host my own event come 2021 in Pennsylvania. So stay tuned for those of you nearby!

As for my kit, I keep a few things handy when I am driving around. First, I keep a neck gaiter mask around my neck at all times (thanks to COVID). I have a small multi-compartment fishing tackle case (link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QWH7VC9/) with all my deployable physicals. I keep them all sorted and ready. Makes it nice in case I have to go on foot. I can just slide it right into my cargo pocket. I keep a phone charger in the truck, and also have a mobile battery pack to take with me when I am on foot. I also keep all my Munzee Coins and Personal Munzee Tag in the truck, in case I come across another player. Should it start getting dark, I keep a few flashlights in the truck ready to go. I also keep bottles of hand sanitizer in the truck to use after I do any type of physical deploy.

Cheers!

Munzee Toolkit MunzDay: Ulifredo

One of the best parts about Munzee is that you can play how you want. Everyone goes about playing a bit differently, and that leads to some very creative and innovative uses of objects. From containers to bags to maintenance, we always encounter something new when we meet players. We want to showcase your Munzee Toolkits to see how you play the game and possibly even inspire other players who may need help!

The week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes to us from Ulifredo, who hails from Germany. With only 4 months of Munzee experience, Ulifredo has amassed more than 300,000 points, 200 badges, and 100 deploys. He’s also made some great progress towards the Capture Super Streak, as he’s managed to cap something every day from just a few days after he started! Ulifredo has a compact kit perfect for his preferred mode of transportation! Read on to learn more about this charming new player!

Ulifredo Toolkit

Hello! My Munzee name is Ulifredo, that was the name of my first cat. I am from Germany. I’ve only been playing for 3 months (at the time of writing — we received his submission in October), but I’m completely hooked!

Like many people in this country, I use the bike a lot. It is very convenient to quickly capture rare bouncers (before others :)), avoiding traffic jams. To orient myself while riding, I have that phone holder for the handlebar, where I visualize the Munzee map.

Since I need free hands, I carry that fanny pack (or belt pouch), which is very light and with enough capacity for all the things I need. These are:

  • A mask (in the flat back pocket). Maybe you do not need it if you go to a solitary area, but just in case.
  • Power bank. The cable has an extension to recharge the phone comfortably while riding.
  • Granola/cereal bars, in case you miss your lunch (or even your dinner). When you munzee, you know when you start, but you don’t know when you will finish…
  • A fine pen marker (0.4 mm) to repair damaged or faded-out munzees (sometimes it works!!)
  • Pads to clean lenses (in the small front pocket), they are useful to clean dirty stickers, or to clean surfaces when you deploy.
  • And of course some generics (also in the small front pocket) to QRew/ZeeQRew or simply because you never know when you are going to find a nice place to deploy.

Munzee Toolkit Thurzday: Jawillia

One of the best parts about Munzee is that you can play how you want. Everyone goes about playing a bit differently, and that leads to some very creative and innovative uses of objects. From containers to bags to maintenance, we always encounter something new when we meet players. We want to showcase your Munzee Toolkits to see how you play the game and possibly even inspire other players who may need help!

The week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes to us from Jawillia, who hails from Niceville, FL. With over 4 years of Munzee experience, Jawillia has amassed over 6.5 million points thanks to her active gameplay. Despite having deployed over 1,000 munzees, Jawillia has created a simple toolkit that works well for her and her husband! Read on to discover their essentials!

Jawillia Toolkit

My Munzee name is Jawillia. The name has followed me from the earliest days of my IT career, when jobs were run via Punched Cards, and took days to get back. So that tells you I’m not young. Munzee is the best thing that happened to old age. It is the one hobby that you can continue to do past the point that your body says no to so many others. We have had to change how we Munzee, and especially in these days, but it is still one of my leading sources of fun.

Our Munzee toolkit is the same for each car. The bag was chosen because it holds readily uncut sheets of 25 micros, a pair of childrens pointed end scissors, a flashlight, and typically a few personal Munzees. We keep the different types of Munzees we plan to use sorted with plastic bags inside the case. It fits easily in the glove compartment, and then in my hubby’s pant’s pocket, or a jacket pocket when we’re away from the car.

Munzee Toolkit MunzDay: Vike91

One of the best parts about Munzee is that you can play how you want. Everyone goes about playing a bit differently, and that leads to some very creative and innovative uses of objects. From containers to bags to maintenance, we always encounter something new when we meet players. We want to showcase your Munzee Toolkits to see how you play the game and possibly even inspire other players who may need help! This week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes from Vike91!

The week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes to us from Vike91, who hails from Kajaani, Finland. In the past year and a half, Vike91 has amassed over 650,000 points thanks to his clever Munzee strategies. Though considered a fairly new player, Vike91 has quickly accumulated quite an extensive Munzee Toolkit! Read on to discover all the goodies he packs away!

Vike91 Toolkit

First, I have a cheap jig/lure case (got it for 4 dollars in a fishing store). The advantage of this case is it has modifiable compartments.

My case contains the following:

  • Foldable scissors for cutting out too big munzees, very handy! I got them on eBay for 1 dollar a piece. (The toolkit only includes one pair of scissors, the other is just for full display)
  • A whistle for emergencies
  • 2 Personal Munzees whenever I meet another Munzee player (I wish my area had more)
  • 2 coins
  • A Munzee badge
  • A small tin box to carry with at all times, with self-printed munzees (maybe I should throw in some generics as well for QRew repair)
  • And of course, self-adhesive munzees!

I have arranged all the munzees by type/type group/size, I know exactly where each type is. There are over 600 self-adhesive munzee stickers in the case.

First column has generic and self-printed munzees.

Second column includes all the 1×2 inch sized munzees (Horoscopes, Camo Greenies)

Third column includes 2×1 specials (RUMs, Prize Wheels, Motels, Hotels, Shamrocks, and Jewels) and Evos.

Fourth column has special and Camo Greenies.

Fifth one has 1×1 sized specials (Seasonals, Jewels, Mysteries, Bowling), oversized stickers, coins/badge and Horoscopes.

Sixth one includes the over-over-oversized Mystery sticker and my Geocaching-related stickers. It also holds almost all the small things, like Personals.

I also have a backpack where I pack this box in, and just in case, I pack a power bank with me so I don’t run out of power. When charging, I often leave the power bank in the backpack, rig the cable through a hole in backpack and finally, connect it to my phone. I have been considering to get a retractable wheel charging cable for this purpose.

Finland has COLD winters, so I also carry a portable blowtorch with me to defrost frozen surfaces for better stick.

I chose all of those items, because I feel those are the most necessary items to play Munzee for me.

Maybe I have too many stickers… maybe I should go deploy, deploy, and deploy some more. Deploy… they will come (or at least they say so)…

This week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes from a Munzee vet. Player sdgal has been munzeeing for nearing 7 years, with her Munzee strategies helping her earn over 5.8 million points for a top 500 world ranking. Let’s see what sdgal carries in her Munzee Toolkit to help her achieve such impressive numbers!

The larger one (left) is for when I plan to deploy. I carry the smaller one (right) just in case Qrewzee replacement is necessary

Sdgal Toolkit

My user name is sdgal. My husband is SDWD. We do approximately 90% of the deploys in our town, Yankton, SD. There is one other active player in town, but she never deploys.

The current #9 and #29 players in the world are friends from our caching days. They have generously  deployed in our town, as well as a couple of other friends.

My husband and I are both in our 70’s, so we enjoy getting out of the house and get a little exercise chasing specials. We winter in Yuma and have really grown that area. Now there are a couple more active players down there, so more fun with more players!

Today’s featured Munzee Toolkit is brought to us by Kim Callahan, or klc1960 as she is known in Munzee. Klc1960 has earned nearly half a million points since joining Munzee last year, a feat made possible thanks to her Munzee Toolkit! Hailing from Beaver Falls, PA, klc1960 has taken the time to share what she carefully packs for her Munzee adventures!

klc1960 Toolkit

Hi… my name is Kim Callahan, and this is my Munzee Toolkit aka Munzee Bag. I purchased it in the cosmetic section at Walmart. It’s a travel makeup bag that came with the 3 oz bottle for air travel, which I use for other things. I love that the bag is compact, it’s “vinyl” so it cleans easy, and that it carries everything I need in an easy to transport way.

Pic #1: The bag is a bit flashy, so guys probably won’t like it ?

Pic #2: The outside zipper pocket holds my selfie stick, scissors, hole punch, flashlight, markers, small notebook, self sticking business card size laminators, zip ties, and alcohol wipes, as well as anything else I might throw in there.

Pic #3: Everything is in its place in the outside zipper pocket.

Pic #4: The large inside zipper pocket contains my sticker box, phone charger, and various cut munzees, as well as my Personals.

Pic #5: Everything is in its place in the large inside zipper pocket.

Pic #6: The small zipper pocket contains envelopes of various munzee sheets.

Pic #7: Lastly, the bag has a handy dandy hanger if you should ever need one!!

Munzee Community Gives Back to North Texas Food Bank!

Munzee is awesome for many reasons, but the players are certainly one of the best parts! Our recent Bash weekend started things off in the best way possible with a community food drive donation! We asked players to bring food donations to Bash Registration  for us to donate to the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB).

Members of the North Texas Food Bank arrived at MHQ to pick up all of the player donations collected at Bash

Players then earned a spin on the IRL Prize Wheel for every 4 canned food items or 1 jar of peanut butter they brought, for a maximum of 3 spins per player. It was a win-win situation that created fun for all while giving back to an excellent cause. And thanks to player generosity, we’re happy to announce that we collected an impressive stack of donations!

Together we collected a total of 369 necessary food item donations! They included:

  • 83 jars of peanut butter
  • 277 cans of food
  • 9 bags of rice and oatmeal

In addition to the food donations, a $600 monetary donation was also made out to the NTFB on behalf of Freeze Tag. Funds for this donation were gathered from a portion of profits from our Peony garden pins ($500) and Peony Personal tags ($100). A big thank you goes out to all players who brought food items or supported the donations through their Peony purchases!

North Texas Food Bank

The NTFB is a local social benefit organization that distributes donated food to North Texans in need. In North Texas, 1 in 6 people don’t have a reliable source of daily food. Every dollar donated to the NTFB is able to provide three meals to families, children, and seniors in North Texas. These nutritious meals are distributed with the support of the community, so the money earned from the Peony sales will personally bring 1,800 meals to North Texans in need!

Thanks again for helping us support this awesome cause! We love seeing what can happen when our community comes together.

We want to showcase your Munzee Toolkits to see how you play the game and possibly even inspire other players who may need help! This week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes from Slunicko!

Today’s featured Munzee Toolkit is brought to us by international player Slunicko! A Munzee player for nearing 4 years, Slunicko has amassed over 11 million points thanks to her Munzee strategies. And when it comes to packing her toolkit, this frequently traveling player is all about keeping things light and easy, proving that quality over quantity is all you need sometimes!

Slunicko Toolkit

This is my Munzee Toolkit. My munzee name is Slunicko, which means “sunshine” in Czech language. My civil name is Gina, and besides Munzeeing I am an international hospital planner.

I travel light through the whole world a lot. This means my travel kit must be light, ultralight. For my world travels, I use only a small plastic bag filled with generics, situated in the case of my phone (see below).

The rest of my munzee resources are packed in the travel vanity bag I got from Air France (already searching for smaller, more colorful one?). It contains, besides all types of munzee stickers (sorted in small plastic bags again), a mini lamp (sometimes my phone rejects this function) and scissors (I even got them free for traveling from Vienna to Grenaa with my hand luggage from friendly customs).

However, I prefer cutting all I might need before travels, and the generics I order are peel-off, so there’s really no need for scissors. The majority of my munzees are credits nowadays anyhow.

One of the best parts about Munzee is that you can play how you want. Everyone goes about playing a bit differently, and that leads to some very creative and innovative uses of objects. From containers to bags to maintenance, we always encounter something new when we meet players. This week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes from food and thefoods. This couple has played Munzee together for years, each earning over 4 million points on their respective accounts! And judging by their Munzee Toolkit contents, the key to their shared success is always being prepared for any type of Munzee adventure!

Food & thefoods Toolkit

In the words of thefoods, the car is our toolkit… we have rigged it to have everything within reach.

Explanations left to right:

  • The tablet goes on this magnet for directions
  • Zees waiting to be used
  • There is a clip attached to keep cords untangled
  • The phone hangs here when not in use

The Munzee-fied car includes the following:

  • 2 magnetic phone holders— one for the tablet to use for directions (left of pic) and one for the scissors when we are playing
  • Clip securely holding cords to keep them from tangling
  • Fishing Box (see below) to keep everything sorted and together (labels make it a quick grab)
  • New munzee stickers waiting to be used being held in the clip with the cords
  • A hook attached to hold the phone when not being used
  • Unicorn attached to the charging cord— because we could 🙂

Here is a quick view of the main pieces we use on each trip:

Also included in Munzee travels is the fishing box with stickers. Pro Tip: Fishing boxes make great storage for munzees!
